Didn't you know? All repsonisble journalists should have verified the estimate, by going and counting all the bodies.
Right.

I for one will simply be grateful if the body count is lower than the estimates. I don't see a need to blame anyone for getting it wrong.

This is the difference between some people. Some of us complain that people are dying due to a lack of response and preparation. Others complain that the body count estimate was higher than reality.

I agree Kermit, unfortunately "Faith Warrior" doesn't share the sentiment, as evidenced by his OP, he seems very disappointed in the low death toll.

We "leftists" have all the bodies, and we've put them in storage.

That way, we can can release a few bodies each day by coming out at night and placing the bodies in strategic positions so the death toll will climb over a protracted period so as to chronically embarrass the President.

I thought our Commissar had already explained that to the righties. (The right DOES know we Democratic lefties all get our marching orders from our local commissars, don't they?)

25000 body bags going to waste? Looks like we just got fooled by the media once again. Leftist media projecting dire casualties to cause problems in our government and society using the blame game and race cards galore. Now when we go looking for bodies the truth comes out; blown out of proportion.

We all do realise that a great part of New Orleans is still under water right?

They said they should have it pumped out by the end of October.

There are many dead in the area. How many? No one will know for awhile. But this we know, that ONE unneccessary death, one life that could have been saved is too many.

Bite me! That was pretty rude of you to suggest such a thing.

Simple point is that the media thrives on the sewage they claim is their truth. They trump up their dire estimates or feed upon erogenous claims of others and suggest some action needs to be taken in the face of a human tragedy. The real truth is that many in the liberal socialist media outlets are nothing but vampires feeding on the confusion they can present and exacerbate to further their cause and goals.

For someone that doesn't like the blame game, you sure take part in it, post after post.

I think when you mention the blame game, you should really say something like "stop playing the blame game against people that I support. Surely, you can't blame them".

Forty-five bodies were recovered from a hospital in New Orleans on Sunday.

This story really bothers me. There are 45 dead and no staff to be seen. They say they all died before the hurricance, please. This looks like a matter of staff running off and leaving the nursing home patients behind. Some effort to remove them could have been done.

Oh, I'm supposed to read before posting? Silly silly me.

But the real question is, why when my post obviously followed his post, where he blamed the "leftist media" for inflating numbers after several times stating that the blame game is stupid and people shouldn't be doing it, you accuse me of not reading.

Weird, weird logic.

The fact that you don't see this:

They trump up their dire estimates or feed upon erogenous claims of others and suggest some action needs to be taken in the face of a human tragedy. The real truth is that many in the liberal socialist media outlets are nothing but vampires feeding on the confusion they can present and exacerbate to further their cause and goals.

as "playing the blame game", is absolutely frightening.

I mean like, oh my god Night of the Living Dead becoming reality, frightening.

Because their the ones propagating the blame game and race cards (as I pointed out before early in this thread), misleading people and causing havoc in our Government. In fact the head of FEMA just resigned rather than take the abuse from media outlets and their accusations and I'm sure they don't want to stop there. Their the ones playing the blame game even before the facts come in. A day will come when they will stand before the throne of God and give account for their every thought, word and deed.

I...I'm not going to even bother.

For the first time, I'm speechless.

The Media was merely quoting the estimate given by the Mayor. It remains to be seen how many people actually died. When 9-11 occurred the initial estimates were that 20,000 had died.

The reporters at the scene see the bodies lying in the street and floating in the water, they do not have the means to take a count, nor is that thier job. Thier job is to report what the mayor said... which they did.

You can not blame the media for the tragedy that is New Orleans.

And the head of FEMA resigned most likely because GW asked him to. His resume was faked, and he lead an inadequate relief effort after the hurricane.

He was unable to do his job, and was embarrassing the administration. That is why he resigned.

It was a hospital, not a nursing home. The staff evacuated the living before the hurricane struck and didn't have the time to evauate the dead. The staff then evacuated, leaving the dead to be dealt with afterwards.

Tenet spokesman Steven Campanini wrote that the hospital was told Wednesday "that we were on our own to evacuate, [and] we brought our own helicopters to take the patients out."

He said, "Every living patient was evacuated by Friday afternoon."

The statement said that once all of the patients were evacuated, officials brought in guards to secure the hospital until the coroner could remove the bodies.

And btw what's this? Not my words. This is not about the people or party I support (notice the Indy?), this is about my Country. Lets face the facts here, the majority of the media would be much happier if they lived in Cuba. If it were not for their hearts desire to turn the US into a Cuban utopia, they would have left us years ago for the *cough* lush green fields of Cuba.
