So there was a debate on Facebook today regarding "The Dress" and I wondered what everyone here thought.

So, vote away.

I voted that it was pretty but kind of bland. And I don't love the reception dress. Though I'm non-traditional and don't like most wedding dresses. I want a retro style red dress when/if I get married.

The wedding dress is suitable. Not horribly overdone, and a balance of modern and traditional styles. The picture of the reception dress just looks weird, and the fuzziness could be toned down a bit.

I love lace, and I LOOVEEE that style veil. I've always pictured mine like that.

I think it was perfect for what the occasion required - modesty with a teensy tiny bit of modern influence. Most of today's styles would have been unacceptable in that setting.

I did think it was a little boring but then again, the dress is probably detailed to look amazing in person, not really conductive for a blurry far off picture.

But even so, I thought it was perfect for her. She seems to have that timeless classic style going on (with the exception of a few unfortunate hat choices) and she was an all around beautiful bride.

Now I'm off to find a picture (or pictures!) of my favorite wedding dresses.

It was nice enough for the situation. Not really much wiggle room for anything too untraditional really, and it was certainly elegant.

And finally, cotton. My favorite is a dress called Phaidra by The Cotton Bride but I can't find pictures of it

The wedding dress over that furry 'dress'. She is very pretty in that reception dress but she is absolutely gorgeous in that wedding dress.

No need for extra 'wow' when that dress makes an already beautiful woman look just that much more beautiful.

Okay...I think I really want my fiancée (when I get one) help me pick out the dress. Like not necessarily see the dress, but let me know what kinds of dresses he likes to see on me.

It reminded me of Princess Grace, also.
She had so many rules about it , i'm sure.
I think it suited her personality- quiet and beautiful. I thought it was quite retro vintage, but modern as well. I think she probably wanted a strapless dress and this was the way to get it, lol. The 2nd dress was DIVINE!

I also loved her bouquet- simple and elegant. I love that it wasn't over the top......tasteful and absolutely beautiful. Would I want it for my wedding dress? probably not; but it was perfect for her.

As beautiful as I think she is, I agree with you on the skinny part.

Hopefully married life in royalty will at least get her to gain some pounds.

She is very beautiful, but that shot of her in the reception dress...you can see every bone and tendon in her poor little hands and wrists. As for putting on some royal pounds after the wedding...I don't doubt there was some strict dieting going on leading up to today lol.
