Jury duty, should I?

I would say no, just to be safe if you're going to school or should be starting school soon. The trial may be short, but you could get stuck on one that goes on for 3 or 4 months. That's happened to my dad before, but luckily he is retired.

I've been called, but had to extend it because I was in school. They won't let you off the hook here if you're in school, but they will let you post pone until a break.

And in regards to other commenters, sure, serving on a jury to fulfill your "duty as a citizen" as some have been putting it is noble and ideal and all, but its skewed. They won't let you on if they feel you're "too smart" or have figured out the system or know too many lawyers. Its not so much citizens duty as it is the government still making sure things go the way they want it to go, even if it involves including citizens.
