If they did... it would never reach consensus. It would have no bearing nor any authority. The Holy Spirit would not have blessed it.

Oy, even after evidence presented from Proterius of Alexandria and Pope Leo I that shows those of the Fri-Sun concensus admitting that they changed the days/dates. :doh:

So should issues not addressed in Scripture be resolved by tradition or leaders, or left open to individuals? I would think the latter, or by democracy if the decision affects a collective body.
And I would make the collective body as small as possible.

Also, is there any evidence that the verse applied for councils is relevant to theological issues? I think just one reversal of a decision or admission of dishonesty would mean God is different today than He was yesterday.
