When it is specifically towards homosexuals it becomes yet again, another recruitment and celebration technique. Include ridiculed Christians and Christian martyrs all over the world and call all students to come to Christian Clubs and to find Christian adults to guide them through the orientation process to learn about what it is to be a Christian. Even trying it out. Who knows, if you've never tried Christianity, maybe you'll like. Let the Christians pass out information pamphlets and Christian gear like crosses and other personal items. Let Christians teach about the history of Christians throughout the ages and even today that are tormented and killed because of their lifestyle.
The Day Of Silence in Public Schools and Universities for Persecuted and murdered Christians.
Get ready for the lawsuits.
Why would there be lawsuits over something like that, if it were just as you describe? There are Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion in this country, and as long as the school is not directly responsible for any of the events described, it is not only not illegal, but beautiful.
But the Day of Silence does not even go as far as what you describe. It is simply a memorial to the dead. So again I ask, what are the good reasons for opposing such a memorial?
Yes the sponsoring groups do also,
separately, sponsor other things, such as clubs where students who are gay, and others who are straight, but not afraid of the lies about seduction and recruitment to the so-called "gay lifestyle" can discuss many issues of vital interest to high-schoolers, plus a few of special interest to gay high-schoolers, including the societal disapproval that too many young people internalize (resulting in a high rate of suicides among gay teenagers) with the hope that by talking it out and discovering that they are not alone in their feelings, and are not evil just because of their orientation.
But how is that a threat to anyone?
Instead of demonizing these groups, try getting to know some of the people who are involved in them. Even if you think that what they teach is sin, get to know them and know just what it is they really stand for so you can correct them properly.
Jesus did not rail at the prostitutes and tax-collectors; He ate with them. He saved His railing for religious hypocrites like the Pharisees and the Temple merchants and money-changers.
Edited to add: I tried rephrasing that last paragraph several times to make it sound less offensive. I am not accusing anyone, other than the specific people to whom Jesus referred, of being hypocrites. But no matter how I phrase it, I can imagine someone taking it the wrong way and reporting me for calling them a hypocrite. I would have just left it out entirely, but I feel it is important to show how Jesus handled dealing with a despised minority of sinners.
