Is an ordained minister the only person who can baptize someone? Can any Christian baptize someone? Does baptism automatically give you local church membership or are they separate ?

Hi 'Alex'. Good to see you. There are no rules that I am aware of that only ordained ministers can baptise new converts.

I've heard of Christians because of persecution,being baptised in water in the bath. This was in a situation where their life would be in danger being baptised publicly under normal conditions it should be in the church body of Christ. Blessings!

Any Christian may baptize. Church membership is different, although some churches give you both when you ask for the one.

I think the scriptures point this out, , that if "two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." (Matt 18:19)
All that is left then is who is "you" the Lord speaks of? Why of course, those who have Christ, who is the baptizer,
", , he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
