BAGHDAD, Iraq - Large demonstrations broke out across the country Friday to denounce parliamentary elections that protesters called rigged in favor of the main religious Shiite coalition.

They may be rigged, but as far as I'm concerned, that's preempted by the fact that they're meaningless to begin with. The U.S. rules Iraq anyway, regardless of the outcome.

Well, I guess Bush has had plenty of practice at rigging elections

The losers immedately make accusations of rigging in the elections they really have adopted of election system.

The coalition that represented the most Iraqi citizens won, big surprise there. It doesn't seem likely or reasonable to me that we would jepardize everything we've been working for in Iraq by riging elections, that doesn't mean it couldn't happen just that I find it unlikely.
