Hi there,
So just making useful predictions leading up to my cross (2053).
The advent of a continual global economy, one in which investments are more and more predictable, will cause chaos with markets. As such an international government will be completely necessary (even from a faith standpoint). The international government will regulate the markets and bring order to the world once again. You might think that that would settle the people, and make them more motivated, but that is not the world we live in.
Rather than becoming more motivated, the people will become increasingly fickle. With the fantasy of every child fulfilled in the world leader, men will see fantasy as legitimate but also intangible at the grander scale. As such they will seek to justify lesser fantasies and feel inadequate as a result. This in turn will fuel a culture that rejects humility and boasts in the self. The bible teaches us that men will be lovers of themselves in the latter days and this is why. Being lovers of themselves, their attitudes will become increasingly irrelevant and frustrated at this, men will start to express fickle ideas, striving, searching for a way to feed their ego, but without the imagination of God to do so.
In this environment, with men becoming fickle, women in turn will begin to gossip more. This will spread to the media and there will be a constant buzz about the latest governmental development or pretty much anything by way of global fashion trend. Talk will be king. You may think women and men alike gossip as it is, but it will be nothing like it will be once there is international government. At the moment gossip is scattered between subjects that have no fundamental tie to one another, but once there is international government, everyone will have at least one opinion on the world and they will want to express it. Staying objective will actually be difficult and those that do not spend time meditating will suffer.
As such, with men and women thinking less and becoming more irrational, children will become very affective, emotional and boistress. The bible talks about brother betraying brother and you might think how is this so, but once people start becoming emotional over little things, as kids already do, it will become clear that they cannot get along. With the importance of leadership firmly fixed in proud little childrens (monsters) minds, this will turn into fights in which there is little room to back down. Thus the whole family will become an enemy of itself and Jesus' words that a man's enemies will be enemies of his own household will become true. The world just cannot remain true, holy and sound in an environment where it looks to them like everything is up for grabs for at least one member of society. It is a fantasy, but one men do not know how to resist.
There is hope however, because the strength of family will mean that the conflict has to stay in the family and as such a great strength of culture, both local and international will emerge and many will cry "Peace" in vain humility rather than be caught up in the chaos of the moment that sweeps the world away from the cross. The Church will be able to reach many by keeping a stable, consistent (true, holy and sound) culture that revolves around something that is grounded, foundational and secure. The confidence that stems from this, plus the fact that it is celebrated around the world as it is, will mean many are drawn to the simplicity and integrity of the message. Christ Himself will work with the international culture to bring about unity and His saints will continue their work abroad to further the news of the gospel. Whereever the gospel is, there will be Peace and the gospel will be known for that.
It hardly seems like the faithful need to do anything more than they already do, but rest assured the Holy Spirit will appear, to win people to Christ and ensure that the integrity of the message is not lost. He will rule with a rod of iron as it says in Revelation, though many will be looking for a native born Jew. This does not fit the pattern of the Christ in ways that few truly appreciate and so much of what the Holy Spirit says will be lost on people that cannot see him as the possession of Israel that He is. Even the Jews will be tested in this and there is no doubt that His work of conviction runs deep through the nations, to all who have seen the cross. He will serve as an anchor to the people nevertheless and in the infamy of anyone who serves the Christ in a world that hates Him, will remind us of the cross once again.
It is with trepidation that we should look forward to this time, always prefering prophesy as we have been taught (1 Cor 14:1).
