At 29mpg and $2.50 a gallon for gas, you'd pay $86,206 for fuel alone - but you would get a free $38k car.

If you bought a $14,810 Civic that got 38mpg, you would spend a total of $80,599 (65,789 for fuel), you'd be ahead $5500 even without the free car.

Of course this doen't count repair and maintenence costs, once these were figured in the Honda would likely be further in the lead.

To get the free car, you would spend almost 2 years driving without a break @ 65mph. Ouch. At least the Saab I test drove had very supportive seats.

That said, Saabs were always pretty cool cars, I really liked the Viggens before they were cancelled. I was pretty upset when they announced their partnership w/ General Motors.
