    Hi,
I have a problem thay may sound funny or stupid... but it's really killng and hurting me. I have a hug obsession. I want to hug my special friends ALL the time. I feel I want to hug them 24 hours non-stop.
I am a girl and I feel that towards my girls friends only (does that mean anything?)

I am extremely hurt coz I never got close friends that I can hug deeply.
Please advise me coz I am having those feelings for many many years (more than 10 years) :'(

    thank u.

    Hello,
first, if you're serious about this, it's not funny or stupid.

Your primary love language sounds like Physical Touch ( from Gary ChapmanĀ’s-"The Five Love Languages" ). So it would make sense that this is something important to you, for you to feel cared about (or to express your care). If you are a social, outgoing, & or expressive type person, I would think even more so. I don't think there is anything unusual or wrong about that.

As for as the 24 hour part, that does sound a bit extreme. Obsessing isn't a good thing, generally speaking. Even obsessing about your faith (as in worrying & being anxious) isn't helpful. Im sure there is a reason you're feeing that way. Maybe there is some deep hurt or need in you, and you're craving comfort &/ or to be able to express this need. (especially if this is a general feeing and not directed towards any particular person). Sometimes people need a long hug/embrace when they are suffering or going through something heavy. I have heard this can be like healing (a method healing can work through).

I don't think you should read anything more into it than that, if you don't have any other issues going on (sexual identity issues etc.).

It's a sad thing not to have close friends, I feel for you. If you mean one that you can hug in an extreme way on a frequent basis, that's another story. In that case, maybe it's better you haven't had it.

Sorry to hear that this is causing you pain.I can't tell if you are a Christian, but if you are you should turn this over to Jesus through prayer ( & fasting ). He can take away any anxiety you have, ease any pains & hurt, straighten out any confusion, and bring you into whatever relationships you may need.

Thank you so much for ur reply... finally someone answered me!

Well yes, I am talking about the very EXTREME case of hugging desires. I mean it: I want to hug friends that I love 24 HOURS! I truly mean 24 hours..
I am so hurt coz I ll never get that (actually I never got a chance to hug people in general, whether in an extreme or normal way).

I am suposedly christian... but im currently FAR away from God... I turned against him few years ago.... I am going to a priest to help me in that....

    I want to die.
Thank you for listening to someone crazy like me.

    Hi again,
That's a rough thing that you never got physical affection from those close to you (especially if one is that type of person who really feel they need it). I'm sorry you were left in need.
It's easy to see how that could set up a longing in someone.

It probably would be healthy if you didn't think about it so much- constant hugging. That just isn't realistic. However, like I mentioned before, maybe this deep desire is connected to something else in your life. Like maybe it's a desire that's displaced (you really are longing for something else but turn it towards hugging). Or again, maybe you need inner healing & comfort over something that happened to you (maybe even over the fact that you didn't get the affection you needed).
I wonder if it would help if you expressed to your friends how much you love them in other ways.

We all need to remember that any good thing can turn bad if it gets out of control. It seems, when things get out of balance you need to learn to not focus on that thing, "just say no" and turn your attention to other good things.

As far as you and God, this really is the most important thing. This is where it all begins (and ends). That is where you should start, on concentrating on developing your relationship w/ God, and getting things right according to His Word. Thank God, you can admit you turned against Him, but want that to change now. Just give everything
over to Jesus and He can bring you closer & closer to God.

I'll pray for you, and that this normal desire can get in balance, and if it's connected to anything else, that God will reveal it and bring freedom & relief to you, and that you will no longer be far from God- but draw near to Him (He alone can embrace you 24/7 and that makes all the difference in the world!):prayer:

You signed your post, "I want to die thanks for listening to me." That sounds like you are making a joke. I won't hold it against you if you are, most people here will accept you even inspite of your quirky jokes.

Here have a hug on me.
