Just pray and ask for the Lord to lead you to where He has called you to be. :)

How do you know which one? If there were a perfect choice, then the world would be a better place than it is. One day all of Jesus disciples will be one and part of a perfect church. If that were not so, then Jesus would have told us. Jesus wouldn't have prayed for it to be so in John 17. On the other hand, there is a perfect choice: the congregation that you become a part of is the perfect one. When choosing the congregation keep in mind Second Peter 1:6-8 "make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

I should mention that I am looking for a church, too; but I haven't really been looking until recently. Its been hard for me to come to grips with going to church; but I am making the effort now. I totally get that you would want a church that teaches the truth, and I am actually the same way minus one change. I have been wrong multiple times about what the truth is, and too many times I have been a real jerk about it when I thought I had it. Or if I thought I didn't have it, I thought truth was the pearl of great price; but it is the kingdom of God that is the pearl.

Go to the source. Read the Scriptures. Read the the writings of those who learned at the feet of the Apostles. Learn what the early Christians believed.

    LOL

    Glad you caught that typo.

Either sign will work Orthodox is pretty cool too.

Here is my advice to the OP don't do like most people do and choose a Church based solely on your view of theology, chances are that you are wrong, (Unless you are a genius Bible scholar who has studied for all your life and has fasted since you were 12. or unless you are extraordinarily lucky and have happened upon perfect truth) Choose a church based on whether or not they have a claim to Biblical authority. Pick the one established by the apostles and pick the one that has the right to be called Gods church.

Well since evry one else seems to be piutching their denomination to you, i might as well throw the pentacostal hat into the ring. Why not join the church that has brought more people to christ than any other single movement since the begining of the church, and has the largest missionary feild of all denominations?

Actually its God that brings people to Christ and he gives people to each church in proportion to the number of them that it takes to screw in a light bulb.

Thanks! I think he may be right about the Pentecostals and the number of converts, too. I don't really know; but it does seem like they do a lot of baptizing. Of course it doesn't actually have to do with light bulbs.

Thanks. I was starting to think it was a failed joke.

I would advise sticking to Churches who affirm the Trinity.

Because it's one of the central tenets of orthodox Christianity.

the Lord said broad is the way that leads to destruction and narrow is the way to eternal life so why take the way of the majority?

Isaiah 9:6- For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

    John 8:24
    - Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins.

John 10:30-33 Jesus answered them, “I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

Revelation 22:13- “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”... 22:16 - “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.”
