That's extremely better than being luke-warm -
the whole point is the homeless are ignored by most everyone, even churches;
all the luke-warm passing by on the other side of town (not just the other side of the road! as in the GOOD SAMARITAN).

And, the whole point of the "good samaritan" was that samaritans didn't mess with Hebrews anyway, and wouldn't dare help them...



(A good samaritan is actually a back handed compliment.)

I have been homeless. I also have a physics degree from a very reputable institution.

That doesn't matter when you are homeless to many people. Having experienced it first hand, I can see how it was a big deal for a person - not to mention a Samaritan - to help someone who they thought was just the worst (a Hebrew.)

When people helped me when I was homeless, and actually conversed with me, they were in awe. To me, it was bitter sweet, because ANYONE can be in that situation - and one shouldn't be judged solely on "sutiations."

So, my initial post was a flippant, sarcastic remark to highlight experience and observation of how many think of the homeless.

Some are addicts, some don't care, but some are also simply down on luck. Some are victims of circumstance. Some are literal geniuses. Some are angels in disguise.
