The soul hardly ever realizes it, but whether he is a believer or not, his loneliness is realy a homesickness for God. -Hubert van Zeller

I just stumbled on this site today, taking a look around. So far, it seems to be a lot of internet-savvy young people. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Is it because old people haven't figured out the WWW yet?

Anyhow, I am old(er), can type, AND use the internet. All at the same time. I also make a mean chocolate chip cookie.

Lol!! I too am 40 *cough* something! Your post was cute! Welcome to CF ... I am a newbi too. But I have found this site quite welcoming even to us *cough* older bunch!!

Hello I'm from Canada too

I stumbled here today too. I was amazed at the catagories! Christians from all over the world talking to one another, sharing their faith, their families, politics, joys, sorrows....

That is why I titled my CF homepage....Many paths, one journey. This site gave me that inspiration. All I have to say...is...it's about time. We all need to hold on tight to each other and remember the greatest commandment. I am so looking forward to navigating this site and going through every faith.

I was so surprised to see the "gamers", "anime", "manga" group.....my son is really into that.....and I sent him a link to all those sites. And I saw a young Christian singles group. Any young ladies interested in an engineering student, age 23....lol lol.....

I will be referring this site to those who are interested in Christianity today.

Bless you webmaster for this site...it is nothing short of amazing.:prayer:

And to the Canadian grandma.......come on... jump in....we'll figure this out together!:groupray:

I also want to thank all the non-catholics  for their prayers for the Pope.:priest:

Welcome y'all!

J GNAT, are you a programmer? (I know of the J GNAT language).

Wow, I just got back to my opening thread. Thankyou JoyouslyHopeful, for your enthusiastic welcome. You sure made me feel like I belonged!

I'd considered, like you, starting over on the whole parenting thing. After all, I finally knew what I was doing. But I'm glad I changed my mind. Being a grandmama is definitely easier! If I could, I'd skip right past the parenting part to get here. Naomi and I work very hard to impress each other. I'm not so worried about being perfect, now that I know that it all works out in the end. Children are durable. I keep my candy dish full. She reminds me when it's cookie baking day. When she is exhausted from trying to be good too long, I give her back to her mom.

Thank you also to thankful75, sistermoon, heatherq17, synergy and gidgx. I hope I spelled those all right.

Wow, now here I realize I missed two whole pages on my thread. Thank you also to:
gumpsmom, bfly, rut, jppt1974, Jeffs_girl-204, Bro_Sam, sisterjenna, juzzi, bill 16652, yenguccia, cygne, MNJohn, juliana theory, bgoddenia. Again, sorry if I got the spelling off. I'm trying to read my own writing. Always an iffy business.

MNJohn, I'm no programmer other than a smidgen of basic and html. I picked my moniker before JGNAT. Four years ago, a google of JGNAT would have got ME. Now, pages and pages of software references. That is probably a good thing. That delightful bit of software allows me a bit of privacy.

Why JGnat? It's a gentle bow to Socrates, the gadfly of Athens, and a sly reference to gnats and camels.
