I'd love to know what some of the people that claim that HP is evil because it's got magic in it would think of Discworld.
There's so much more... magic in it. For instance, knowledge is power, knowledge is held within words, words are witheld in books, so books naturally, have power. Combine these books together in a large collection... say a library and it distorts space/time. The space it creates is is known as L-Space, you may be walking down the cookery section, and emerge in the geology section in a different library 5 years ago. Only the Librarian is capable of navigating L-Space, who was turned into an orang-utan in an accident, and has since resisted all attempts to turn back into a human, because life as an orang-utan is much easier.

A book series who's main theme is the power of love.

There's nothing wrong with adults enjoying YA fiction. The fact that children, teens, and adults can enjoy the series shows how powerful the overall message is. Just because children can enjoy it as well doesn't mean it's a bad story.
