Boy, it sure is refreshing to find a forum on the internet with other dedicated Christians.

Here's a pic of me...
000_0082.jpg

Lately I've been receiving nothing but bitter persecution for my faith - both online and in the real world. However, I consider these trials a blessing and I'll gladly suffer for Christ anyday, as it ultimately brings me in deeper fellowship with him.

Since I'm always willing to discuss my life when the opportunity rises, I may as well give you fine folks something to read - and hopefully I'll find myself becoming more acclimated to this new environment at these Christain Forums.

Anyhow, I'm almost 28 years old, was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin among a wonderful God-Fearing Family who helped instill valuable morals into my feeble existence. Ya see, I was born with a condition called Lymphangioma - a rare stipulation that affected my entire right leg with extra fat.

From the outset, my family and doctors had absolutely no idea of whether I'd ever be able to walk. Well, thankfully Prayer and many surgeries later - I grew up walking normally to this very day. Even at a tender young age, I could always feel the presence of the Good Lord with me. He's helped me to overcome hundreds of surgeries for various medical conditions and always helped lead me back on the straight path whenever I found myself drifting away.

Even despite having pure intentions toward others, I obviously managed to find myself in trouble during life's walk (*sigh* still do). Let's see, there was hooking up with countless females during my teens (I'd rather not elaborate further), driving recklessly, disobeying my parents... the list goes on. Eventually, I became extremely ill at the age of 19, lost 6 pints of blood, and was rushed to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for a permanent colostomy. Yep, it sucks... but the life altering event also helped to prolong my life.

In due course, I also blasted a deer on my crotch rocket motorcycle at 120 mph without a helmet, and the Good Lord summoned his angels to keep me safe from that potentially tragic event. In fact, I never hit the pavement after slicing the deer in half. Yep, I should be dead - but I'm not, Praise the Good Lord.

Soon after I moved down to Florida, spent a year among the palm trees, and everything went great. That is, until my house was robbed. To help cope, I began doing lots of Ecstacy and experimented with a few other drugs, while smoking weed everyday.

That was clearly a dead-end road, so to salvage what life was left, I moved back to Wisconsin to clean-up my act, stay grounded amongst family who have my best interests at heart, and submitted myself fully to Jesus' will.

Over the past seven years, God had made me more healthier and productive than ever. My walk with him everyday deepens, and the knowledge he imparts my way helps to touch others in a positive and uplifting spiritual manner (hopefully). He's the only thing that truly matters in my life. I pray that he allows me to reach the spiritually dead before its too late, as this happens to be my primary objective everyday.

It's an utterly depressing world we reside in, but God definitely gives everything meaning. Wow, thanks for listening to my inital rant. Take care and God Bless.

Thanks for the testimony, snoo, and welcome to Christian Forums, the little project of Dr. Erwin Loh that has grown into quite a fascinating and large community. Congratulations on making it this far in more ways than one. Perhaps you’ve been lurking for a while or have been here before and have already figured out a bit here and there - like what all those buttons do on the navigation bar at the top, who ChrisBot is, and those particularly ‘dangerous’ forums that always garner so much attention and ‘trouble’ (i.e. heavy moderation and tempestuous debates). Maybe you’re an old-hand at Internet discussion boards. But in case you’re somewhat overwhelmed, now might be a good time to take a peek here: FAQ . These FAQs will explain a lot (though not all) of the somewhat confusing things in the eye-feast of overwhelming CF thingies.
You probably read the Terms of Service you agreed to when joining, but in case you did not it’s a good idea to attempt to read the rules listed here: Rules. I know they’re long and drawn out, may be a bit confusing and subject to various interpretations, but it may help make your journey smoother to familiarize yourself with them.

CF is a huge place and try as we may to be a gentle bunch, I’ve noticed that sometimes it doesn’t take much for trouble to put a ‘kick me’ sign on one’s back, and no one wants to see that for people of good intent. I know it might take most of your day, week, month, or year(s) to become thoroughly familiar with everything; but you should at the very least skim the FAQ outline and be aware of certain limitations like where you can talk about what (especially in the “Christian Only” forums when compared with those “Open to all members”, or those otherwise specifically designated as “open”); when and how you can post pictures/images or post in certain restricted forums; when and where to post e-mail or other links; those ever important faith icons (of which you’ve already had to choose, and will need assistance to change, if desired); how to chunk up on blessings for pets, CF characters and ‘armor’, or games, quizzes, and such; the Private Message system that might pop up on your screen any moment now; what to do with a rogue member or even moderator (eek!); what some of the pesky abbreviations mean that you’re sure to come across (like OP, OSAS, IMHO, TTYL, DTTBOWTBW (don’t throw the baby out with the bath water)), etc.

You’ll notice we have an Intro Sticky by the lovely AngelAmidala: http://www.christianforums.com/t1110956-please-read-the-rules-before-posting-thanks.html , that most forums have other ‘Sticky’ introductions that can often be important to read before posting in that forum, and that some of the more popular threads have little numbers beside them (like “Welcome to all new members (4)”) which means they’ve been continued in further incarnations after reaching a 1000 post limit for each thread.

I don’t mean to take up all of the space in your very own Intro thread, so have a happy journey here at CF, and here are just a few forums that might be helpful in starting. Just click on the links and find a place you like:
CF Announcements (what’s going on around here, what’s not working and why)
Report Bugs (not the crawly ones)
Questions about CF (a jumble of interrogatories bordering on talking with the divine)
Regional forums – Where ya from?
Congregations – What church ya go to?
Chatting with individual Staff members (usually in informal ways of friendship)
Friendship Court (no pretzelizing allowed)
Face the Board (which is ‘open’ to all members)
Recovery (help with particular life struggles)
Outreach to non-Christians by Christians, seeker prayers and help from Christians, etc.
Edification (Christians Only) Blogs, Prayers, Testimonies, Advice
Help with creating a CF Homepage (a newish feature of CF)
How to become a site supporter (and financially help this ministry)
Help with IRC (Internet Relay Chat)

I’ve not been here that long myself, so feel free to contact the New Member Intro forum moderators or other Staff (the orange “s” people) with any questions. They are volunteers here and may not always have ready answers, and though they are flawed humans and may often be rather busy with other things (some of which may sometimes be a bit upsetting and flavor their response times and forms) patience and kindness will find that they can usually point you in the right direction. To see a full list of forums click on "Christian Forums" in upper left hand corner. I hope these links are helpful to you.
Be blessed and best wishes on helping others here,

- Ciborium
