I don't think I've ever seen a discussion about ghosts before.

I had been a non-believer in ghosts, then a skeptic (I suppose that's more of an open-minded non-believer). Maybe 6-8 years ago, my best friend and I worked at the same job. He was trying to get into ghost hunting, and one of our managers was very into it -- had his own e.v.p. recordings, kept up with famous and local hunters on social media, had a few of the tools involved in such a thing. That manager left before my buddy really went out and did anything, but it caught my interest that he would be so intent to go because he's really not the kind of person to go breaking into abandoned buildings. Ghost Hunters was really popular on tv around then, but it was evident that they were making a lot of money doing what they were doing, eventually spawning off some satellite investigation groups in other countries and states and such. Like a company. One year, they had a Live Halloween special. I watched it. Me and a lot of other people actually saw them fake a physical interaction. I was pretty done at that point.

Then I had caught a few episodes of another show, Ghost Adventures. They were slightly more compelling. As a writer, I tend to look between the lines at people's actions and words on television. I could find no inclination that they were acting at all -- there are three guys (four if you count their tech guy, who goes in on the hunt on rare occasion) they all have separate motives for ghost hunting, and those remain true throughout the seasons. The main guy is really douchey, but he intends to prove ghosts' existence because he had an encounter one time. One guy (Nick) is searching for questions to the afterlife, and he remains true to this by the types of questions he asks into the air. "What can you tell me about how you died?" "What's it like?" "Do you believe in a higher power?" these are questions only Nick asks, especially when he's alone.

But I had only caught a few episodes here and there. Last week, I came home and my roomate was watching the first season on netflix. I sat down and watched the marathon with him. I have to tell you, it completely changed me into a believer. I consider myself a man of scientific intellect. I could easily work out a possible debunk for any of the events captured on Ghost Hunters, but on every single episode of Ghost Adventures, there was at least one or two things I simply could not get my head around.

I would go into those if you'd like. But really, I just wanted to hear your opinions. Do you believe in ghosts or not? What does your faith say about ghosts? (and please, if someone puts up a faith-based statement, ignore their post and respond only to me. I do not want this to be a debate for anyone)

I was into that show as well. Gosh, I was into all the paranormal shows in scifi channel lol.
It was more curiosity than anything else, why I watched those programs.
I've had a couple of "weird" experiences, when I was a kid and the other when I was 19.
Non of which I could explain or have a proper answer to.
So yeah...Im more towards "yeah...I might believe in ghost" than "totally no!".

I've experienced a lot of things in my life ... full fledged manifestations of things, "miracles", etc. But I have never seen what I thought was a "ghost" that I'm aware of. However almost all the people whom I know who claim to have seen ghosts ... and they provide vivid details, often multiple encounters with the same ghosts ... almost all of those individuals are atheists or agnostics, and most of them are of the skeptical variety. Yet they claim to have seen and experienced them regardless.

I think they're demons. When I read about that was when I started to think there must exist a God also.

I don't know if I believe all of them are demons. I could certainly see that. What I was shown were "good" and "bad" ghosts. The good ones (often female) seemed to have died tragically, the bad ones (often male) seemed to have been bad people in their lives and want to keep being bad people. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to jump to a conclusion on reasoning or titles such as that.

The female spirits often warned the hunters of impending other bad spirits, were more willing to answer their questions, seemed appreciative of their attempts to communicate. The male spirits were often quite the opposite.

In my experience, if it manifests to where you can see it with your physical eyes ... it's not what most people call a "demon". Nor if it is capable of causing paranormal phenomena that involves moving or manipulating objects that don't have some type of electrical component to their function (like causing doors to slam shut verses causing light bulbs to explode, for example). So if you can see it manifest with your physical eyes, it's something else. If it's causing doors to slam shut and other non-electrical related phenomena, it's something else. Concerning communication ... if it's communicating through a device or in a manner that you can hear it with your physical ears ... it's not what most people would call a "demon", it's something else.

But in wicca they also have good and bad spirits and the devil comes like an angel of light. It's in the Bible, talking to ghosts, that was very evil, so I guess they're just demons, since people don't stay here on earth when they die or it could be someone getting out of their body, while alive. The wife of Harold Hill (Living like a King's kid) did that, talking to ghosts, she just saw them in the room and when he had a question she would ask her 'friends'. Then she went to a mental hospital for a year and was demon posessed because of playing with ghosts.

"Ghost" are apparitions.

An apparition is the appearance of a evil spirit in the form of a person.

An apparition is not a physical form but a "spirit" form.

Do not forget.

Satan is a master of deception and that is the purpose of apparitions.

To deceive people from the truth.

people who die go to heaven or hell. they are not wandering around on earth, they cannot contact us in any way. IN fact we are forbidden to try to contact those who have died, God forbids it. Those who try, will contact something, but it wont be their lost loved one...or Elvis or anyone else. It will be a demon who can deceive you into thinking you are talking to gramma or General Lee...
so there are no ghosts as you think of as ghosts. There ARE demons, and they often appear to people, I used to see them until I got delivered from that torment.

They do go to heaven or hell.often escorted or dragged by the spurits which gravitate towards them based on the true nature of the heart...but when this happens.though usually within 4 days ..we cannot determine with certainty..God is soveriegn in these matters.

I don't understand why you would ask what our faith says about ghosts, then ask us to ignore anyone else who answers the question.

Where in the bible, preferably the New Testament, is this discussed?

1.) "They do go to heaven or hell.often escorted or dragged by the spurits which gravitate towards them based on the true nature of the heart."
2.) "but when this happens.though usually within 4 days ..we cannot determine with certainty."

it is based only upon many a testimony of those who have been shown such things .. it is not a doctrine and im not trying to make it one .

Ghosts are real. Seen them. Heard them. Kicked them out. Some are demonic. I have blessed many houses, both alone and with a team of church members. I like to watch shows like Ghost Adventures because I try to discern what is demonic, and what is possibly a ghost. They are indeed different and have different abilities. They seem to work in tandem, since both negatively affect the living.

The Bible is largely silent on these matters for good reason, but offer a few clues. Even the disciples believed in ghosts.

Yeah demons. You know I can or use to talk strong. Well many years ago my mom said how nice it would be if we were with her. She never asked for anything ever. So she lived in Colorado and me in Calf. We moved to be with her. Her husband that LOVED the lord so ..just wow. Always had the bible with him (wow I should). He had cancer.. passed away..home now.

Anyway we were staying with them me and my wife and two boys. One night I get up to go to the bathroom. Blood of Jesus.. this black thing see through walks through the house. I new Jesus duh.. GOD IN ME! Hello! Lol.. a I dont know how to explain this. It looked at me as it walked through. I was NOTHING to it. I new that I new that I new.. I was nothing to it. So DUH I left the light on at night for a few nights! HAHA. I have grown in my faith only by Him and for His glory....still gets me.. I was nothing to it. Told my mom..said.. yeah the spirit of death has been around for a while.. not very long after that he went home.

Wow didnt think remember that would make me cry.. well he turned all yellow and was laying on the bed in the living room. And my mom standing over him. Out of now where I here him say how much he loves my mom and then says.. wow how he can see all the stars.. and was gone. He was not my dad.. never new my real dad.. a lie.. I do know Him! Hehe.
