    Their promotion is what's different.
When they seek to redefine the family unit thru legal channels, it
    becomes different becuz it directly affects all people;
esp. younger generations who grow up in it.

We DO legislate a great many sins too - why NOT this one!
I ask the same in the opposite way.
It's clear to me you don't view it as so harmful at all.
Plenty of Christian teachers & leaders have spoken out on
how harmful this is and what it means for society.

Kids will also be taught homosexuality in public schools,
that's a whole other issue. They're already pushing to get it
    into curriculum for grade schoolers.

By the way, you totally ignored the pedophile's plight.
The fact remains that they cannot indulge in what they
please; nor can the unhappy spouse in the dead end marriage....

The fact that you say it harms noone tells me plenty.

Instead of spending time typing out the harms, I'll just go find
someone elses points in why it's harmful. Not that it'll matter once
    people decide sin is fine.

The fact that God forbids it is proof that it IS harmful; all sin
    is harmful.

all the reasoning in the world dosen't refute the fact of James 4:17 "If you know what you ought to do yet do not do it, you sin."

I agree.. but that is aimed at Christians... we can't legislate non-Christians out of sin, only a change of heart will do that, and that is not brought about by law.

So we are talking about homosexuals who don't know God?

The OP didn't specify, but we are talking about legislation legalising gay marriage... presumably it would apply to Christian and non-Christian alike. Christians are answerable to God for their actions... but the legislation would presumably be the decisive point for non-Christians.
Certainly those arguing most vociferously against it seem to think that it should be prohibited for all, whatever their belief.

Welcome to America, a secular nation removed from Christianity, accepting of all religions. A land of equality.

If you're looking for the Kingdom of God, keep your eyes off the flag.

Personally, I think that homosexuals should have the same right to marry as heterosexual couples. Denying them that right is not going to prevent them being gay. If they are Christians, it is up to them to decide what is right before God. If they are not, preventing them from marrying does not bring them any closer to salvation.

I think the problem with that perspective is that if we legalize Homosexuality, we might as well legalize pedophilia and bestiality.

Homosexuality is not illegal, as far as I know.
It is a relationship between two consenting adults, in which no one is harmed. That hardly compares with an adult taking advantage of a child or an animal, who cannot give informed consent. Homosexuality involves a loving relationship, the other two are abuse. Hardly comparable, I think!

God didn't pass moral laws so that it would prevent people
    from being sinners....
God passed moral laws to PROTECT PEOPLE from evils that
harm them in many different ways.

    Sexual sin harms everyone.

So they can be one in the eyes of the community.

I think it's very unnecessary. Simply because, it allows loop holes of many other corruptions.

chain reaction basically. You allow one thing, pretty much they're gonna want another thing.

That of course is my opinon
