Junior Boatright's funeral is today, and I am supposed to do the graveside service. Please pray the Lord would give me the right words. He was 77, and a fine Christian man. I plan to read this poem I wrote this morning:
A Tribute to Alton Boatright, Jr.
The Scuffletown community lost a mighty fine man
His time of departure was according to God's plan
Junior Boatright was a true friend to all those he met
He loved his country and was proud to be a Korean vet
Junior spent many hours at the church that sits on the hill
Singing was his specialty, I can hear his clear voice still
He was a humble servant of the Lord God most high
One of Junior's favorite songs was In the Sweet By and By
If Junior was with us today I believe he would say
"I am so glad I trusted Jesus to show me the way
Edna you have been a loving and faithful wife to me
Tell our children and grandchildren that I am finally free"
