I think that we all have reached a point where any words will be productive. I pray for each and every one of us and especially for the mother and the child whose story began this post.

Prayers aren't enough. She also needs human punishment for child endangerment. A year in prison should do it....

I think this shows that even people who claim to be responsible gun owners are still at risk from children shooting them in the back with their guns.

I don't think this was a responsible anything. I think it was a 20 something little girl that screwed p and put everybody around her in danger. I think CPS needs to be invited into this and someone needs to go to her home and see how safe that place is.

As far as punishment is concerned I think enough has been sustained by the woman and what she will go through to get her kid back, if she can will make it clear to this woman that she needs to buckle up and get her act together.

The mother was also arrested for stealing clothing.

Maybe she was trying to steal something from her son.

31 and married with children. That is an adult woman, not a child.

And at 31 she should know that owning a gun dramatically increases the chance that her or her loved one's will be hurt by that gun.

I agree. We did not let our children start shooting until they were 10 years old, and they knew the importance of gun safety. After target practice, the guns were locked and placed in the trunk, then placed in the safe at home.

Keep in mind that this lady is a strong Second Amendment Rights activist, and allowed her 4 year old to shoot. That is my whole issue here. A four year old is simply too young to be shooting guns.
