Today, as we are gathered together in fellowship, we have been reminded of how God has been faithful to us, He has kept all of the promises that He has made, including the sending of our Savior Jesus, and how Jesus has paid for all of our sins at the cross. You stand forgiven.
You have the gift of everlasting life with Him in Heaven!
May we today make that commitment, to serve the LORD all the days of our life.
That theme is stated in the last verse of the hymn,

"Oh Blest the House Whate’er Befall"

Then here will I and mine today
A solemn promise make and say,
If all the world forsake God’s Word,
I and my house will serve the LORD.

Jesus highlighted two major things – to love one another and to forgive your enemy. In the Lord's Prayer, He said:
"Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." [Matthew 6:12 NIV]

A couple of verses later He repeated this by saying:
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." [Matthew 6:14-15 NIV]

Could Jesus have said it any clearer than that? He did not say: "forgive your enemy if he is sorry and apologizes to you".
No, Jesus told us simply to forgive – no strings, no "ifs" and "buts". He also told us that if we did not forgive our enemies then God would not forgive us. Period.

Has someone hurt you and never been forgiven? Maybe you intend to forgive someone when it "feels right", or when it doesn't hurt as much as it does now.

Forgiveness is not a feeling but an action.
Forgiveness may not heal the forgiven, but it will definitely heal you!

DON’T GIVE UP

The man of God sat on his own
He prayed beneath a tree
“Oh Lord my God, I’m all alone
There’s no-one left but me”

God heard and felt His servant’s pain
In answer to his cry
Said, “Seven thousand yet remain
You have no need to die

Now hear these words I speak to you
Return the way you came
I have some work that you can do
To glorify my name”

God’s servant then was unafraid
He did as God had planned
On us today God’s hand is laid
We too must understand

No Jezebel can hold us down
Or keep us from our goal
We’ll go in Christ, from town to town
To free a lost child’s soul

No devil’s work, can undermine
Nor hinder Jesus’ seed
For those who drink Salvation’s wine
Are truly free indeed

We can’t afford to sit around
The bible makes it plain
God’s sheep must all be safe and sound
For Christ to come again

But soon the last will be inside
We’ll hear the Master shout
We’ll change to be His lovely bride
Of this have no-more doubt.

As I address you today, I am addressing believers.
We see how God has been faithful to us!
We see how God has kept all of the promises that He has ever made to us!
May we choose to remain faithful to God, because He has chosen us.

After all, this is the God who created us.
This is the God who loved us so much that He couldn’t just leave us in our sin.
This is the God who demonstrated his love by sending Jesus to earth to live a perfect life for us.
This is the God who knew we couldn’t earn our way to heaven, so He sent His Son to the cross,
to pay for every single one of those sins.
This is the God whom the grave could not hold.
This is the God that we are called to serve.
Knowing that God has been faithful to us…

May we Renew our Promise to be
Faithful & Serve Him.
As the scriptures say, "God is faithful and just. He will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness."
May we renew our promise to remain faithful to Him, and serve Him.

Wonderful post, doc, and that's my desire.....to be found found faithful in my service to Him. God bless you, doc!

Hello Doc! :wave::hug:
I hope you are doing good.
God bless you, my friend! :)

I have an urgent prayer request:

One of our dear cf friends, cassie121
is suffering from cancer that has spread to her lungs
and kidneys, and she is awaiting 2 transplants. The
first one will be on June 15. Cassie is not doing well and can use a lot of prayers and encouragement.
She is only 15 years old.

There are a couple prayer threads going for her:
One in Blessings Exchange:

and another one in Prayer Requests:

You can also sign her guestbook or send her a pm to let her know you are praying for her!

True:

Proverbs 14:31
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

1 Thessalonians 5:15
See that none render evil for evil unto any [man]; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all [men].

We constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of
his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good
purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.
-- 2 Thessalonians 1:11

Paul prays for God to be active in the lives of these new
Christians -- to maximize the good they intend to do as well as
fully bless every good deed they do out of their commitment of
faith. What new Christian do you need to pray this for?

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait
patiently for the LORD (Psalm 27:14 NLT).

Waiting is so hard. Sometimes it seems like God is late, way late, in
responding to our earnest requests. We can be in such a hurry and can
get frustrated if things don't happen quickly.

Waiting is hard. Sometimes we get anxious. Let's pray and trust and
look for God's timing. Let's learn to wait so that we can receive God's
best, God's way.
