Next year is going to be the 100 anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun that took place on October 13 in Fatima, Portugal.

Tens of thousands of people saw the miracle take place, not just those who gathered in the field in Fatima. But also people 11 miles away
They saw the sun dance and spin and change colors and drop close to the ground.

Have you read about the accounts of the visions that took place at Fatima?
I would recommend the book "Our Lady Of Fatima" by William T. Walsh
it was published in 1954 so many people who were directly connected to the events were still alive.
Walsh was an Ivy League historian so his research into this topic was amazing.
At the same time Walsh was also a devout Catholic.

One of the things that amazed me about the events of Fatima was reading about the great acts of penance that the shepherd children at Fatima did for poor souls.
Fasting, Praying, Mortification
always praying for the salvation of souls.

How mankind has fallen since 1917.

We thought the two world wars were the depths of evil but they were only the begjnjng they are insignificant compared with todays evils. Back then men and women had a real sense of right and wrong. Far from amending our ways we have plunged to the depths of out right rejection of god and all moral order

Pope Francis

13 Dec, 1969: Is ordained priest.
13 Mar, 2013: Is elected pope by a conclave of 115 cardinals and takes the name Francis. He becomes the first pope from the Americas, the first Jesuit, the 266th pope in the history of the Catholic Church, and the 265th successor of St. Peter.

*
Under the pretext of providing his personal automobile, so that the children could travel safely through the crowds pressing around their homes, the civil Administrator or Mayor of the district in which Fátima was located, arrived in Aljustrel on the morning of August 13th. A previous attempt on August 11th to obtain the "truth" from the children having been unsuccessful, Artur Santos, an apostate Catholic and high Mason, had devised a scheme by which he would take them into custody and force them to reveal all. With a show of good will he now offered to take the three and their parents to see the parish priest, whom he claimed wished to see them, and then to the Cova. At the parish house he abandoned this ruse, and the parents, taking the children alone from there to the district headquarters in Vila Nova de Ourem, some 9 miles away. Here he tried bribes, threats of death and locking them in a cell with other "criminals" in order to get them to recant their story. It was to no avail. Despite their ages, their belief in the Lady and their courage was unshakeable.

Meanwhile, in the Cova at noon on the 13th the characteristic external signs of the Apparition appeared for the benefit of the crowd, the greatest crowd to that time. After they ended the crowd dispersed, as yet unaware of the trickery of the government.

The "trial" of the children, however, continued for two days, to the consternation of their families. Finally, on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, the Administrator had them driven back to Fátima and deposited on the steps of the rectory. Here they were seen as the people, who had just come from Mass, were trying to determined from Ti Marto where the children were. Their anger was poured out on the driver, and on the Mayor when he arrived a little later, both of whom were no doubt glad to be rid of their little charges and to escape unscathed. It would effectively be the only serious effort of the civil authorities to interfere with the Lady of Fátima.

As it was the Lady's plans were delayed slightly. On Sunday the 19th Lucia, her brother John, and Francisco, were grazing the sheep at a place known as Valinhos. It was located on the side of the same hillock opposite Aljustrel where the angel appeared twice, though a little farther north. At apout 4 o'clock, sensing that Our Lady was about to appear, Lucia tried unsuccessfully to get John to fetch Jacinta, until she offered him a couple pennies for the errand. As she and Francisco waited they saw the characteristic light. The moment Jacinta arrived the Lady appeared. (Source)

Angelica, I looked for some Catholic resources for you. The Xavier Society for the Blind lends audio books (and braille books, which you don't need). I imagine you would need a doctor's note to be approved to borrow, but if you have a permanent vision impairment that might be possible.

My brother who has MS is visually impaired and working with a low vision specialist. I am going to see whether he might qualify for Catholic audio book loans, too.

http://www.xaviersocietyfortheblind.org/index.php/site/services/library/

The application lists "visual impairment" as a qualifying condition.

So just who are we expected to believe ?

VATICAN CITY — Pope emeritus Benedict XVI has said he never told anyone the publication of the “Third Secret of Fatima” in the year 2000 was incomplete, and has confirmed the document was published in its totality, the Vatican announced today.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the Holy See Press Office, regarding various recent reports on the “Third Secret of Fatima”“Several articles have appeared recently, including declarations attributed to Professor Ingo Dollinger according to which Cardinal Ratzinger, after the publication of the Third Secret of Fatima (which took place in June 2000), had confided to him that the publication was not complete.”.........

Indeed who?

When the vatican released this third secret they said it was about pope john paul ii being shot.. in other words the message of fatima was over.

But here in this link pope benedict says the message of fatima is not over. If he said it then i find it plauseable that there is further parts and if so then its plausable he said so in private to a cloese friend.

Dosnt it seem odd that with all the stories that have broken all the confussion in the church that pope benedict would break silence to discredit a news story that is said to confirm a old statement from him... when if it bothers him so much he could have do it while pope.... these words attributed to pope bemedict xvi.... i would call questionable

It's not just odd, it's highly unlikely...
They "quote" him which says it all.

If this were the truth he would've said so himself.

I get the sense that this is bull...
