Here's the deal that the immature have a hard time grasping. Absolutely there is freedom of speech in this country, but that does not mean one can be disrespectful and/or offensive without repercussions by others who are affected by your stupidity.

The company felt like they did not want to be associated with this type of behavior...I see no problem with it at all...EVEN if she wasn't on a business trip.

You post dumb things on a public forum and your boss sees it...he/she has every right to fire your behind.

Since she neither died nor lost her ability to reproduce, it's not natural selection at all.

It's a pun. :doh1:

The post you quoted said exactly that.

Did she identify herself as an employee of any specific company?

Except she posted it on her personal facebook page. If she's ever identified herself as an employee for that company on that page (which is possible since they quickly connected her to her job), then she has.

While this is true, what you do outside of work like on vacation really shouldn't affect whether the company keeps you or not. What you do ON the job is what you should be judged on.

The thing is, she did this while on a business trip. That's why the company objected to it.

Beyond that, if you do something rude or stupid online and you show your identity and you've linked yourself to your job in one way or another it can come back to bite you in the bum.

A few months ago during the Chick-fil-a drama that one fellow who drove up to the drive in and harassed the girl at the window got fired for it.

He just happened to have his name as his youtube account and a search told people where he worked, a few e-mails to his employer and bam, negative attention for a business so he gets the boot.
