Dear Fellow Word-Faithers (and sympathetic critics)
I would like to get your views on how you understand the End-Time Wealth Transfer Message. I realize that a number of Scriptures are used to support this. For example, some understand Jesus as teaching that we won't see His second coming until the gospel has been preached all over the world:
My questions is, what are YOUR thoughts on this? Do you know of anyone else who has taught on this subject besides the two aforementioned leaders in the Faith Movement? What are your thoughts concerning their teachings?
This inquiring mind needs to know.
I would like to get your views on how you understand the End-Time Wealth Transfer Message. I realize that a number of Scriptures are used to support this. For example, some understand Jesus as teaching that we won't see His second coming until the gospel has been preached all over the world:
And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:14)
Because of this, many people believe that the body of Christ will experience an unprecedented amount of wealth to accomplish this:
Proverbs 13:22 A sinners wealth is stored up for the righteous
Proverbs 28:8 He who increases his wealth by exorbitant interest amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor
Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God
Isaiah 60:5 The wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come
Isaiah 60:11 Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that men may bring the wealth of the nations
Isaiah 61:6 You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.
Isaiah 66:12 I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream.
As far a FAITH PREACHERS teaching something close to this subject, the only book I have is one by Kenneth Copeland titled The Laws of Prosperity. Copeland writes,Proverbs 28:8 He who increases his wealth by exorbitant interest amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor
Many times it looks as though the ungodly men have all the money, but this is not true. There is more wealth hidden away than they will ever possess. The Bible says plainly that God will cause us to have the hidden wealth of the world, the hidden riches of the secret places (see Isaiah 45:3). The Word tells us that
the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just (Proverbs 13:22). Why then does the sinner have it? Because there are certain facts of financial law that will work when put to work. (p. 26)
On the other hand, the late Kenneth E. Hagin disputes the End Time Wealth Transfer teaching in his book, The Midas Touch and disputes the use of Prov. 3:21 to prove it. Unfortunately, Hagin's dispute seems to be primarily on dispensational grounds. His only argument is that he can not find anything in the New Tesatement that teaches this. So there is some dispute on this in the Faith Movement.
My questions is, what are YOUR thoughts on this? Do you know of anyone else who has taught on this subject besides the two aforementioned leaders in the Faith Movement? What are your thoughts concerning their teachings?
