We are coming up on Shimini Atzeret/Simchat Torah and as I awoken today my thoughts were on
In the beginning................
Also that the end is told from the beginning a thought occurred to me.
You need to put aside all you've been taught to comprehend this so be prepared
בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
B'resheet bara Elohim, et hashamayim, et ha aretz
Beginning created Elohim, (and) heavens (and ) the earth
The heavens are mentioned first in this first opening sentence.
(something to think about, the very first verse in the word begins with Beit, not Alef, what was Alef? will we learn soon?)
Subsequently we read
Here we see the Earth is first addressed or is it?
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide
the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the
firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven.
And the evening and the morning were the second day.
So in the beginning there were 'waters'
'ha shamayim' translated 'heavens' or 'sky' contains the word for 'water'
מַ֖יִם--water--mayim
Let's read verse 1 again
Now was this two separate things, or were they one in the beginning, echad?
If we consider this, that there was one 'mass' that was divided to make two 'areas', one called 'earth' and the other called 'heavens', a paradigm shift presents itself.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
