from www.drudgereport.com:
--A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

The paper said Panarin's dire predictions for the U.S. economy, initially made at an international conference in Australia 10 years ago at a time when the economy appeared strong, have been given more credence by this year's events.

Could this one day be the only economically viable option if things continue to deteriorate? Seems pretty absurd to me right now. But 5 or 10 years from now who knows what will happen?

"The United States" is a misleading name, actually, held only by antiquity. We had become a single state by the 1860's, and sealed this transformation with our blood. I doubt that the current state of our economy alone will separate us, but the scary thought in all of this is that the injection of socialism is clearly the cause of our woes, and yet it is looked upon as the solution (and capitalism, the perpetrator). If/when there is a recovery, it is my prayer that somehow Americans will wake up to the fact that these policies will not have been worthy of the credit, or else I am concerned for our future indeed.

Hopefully this bailout will work. But I seriously doubt it.

I was telling some church members that by this time next year the chuch could be closed down, and it's one of the top 100 biggest churches.

Worst case, total collapse within 2 years.
You could have millions but it will be worthless.
No jobs to be found.
Cars litered all over the place.
Empty buildings, skyscrapers only filled with homeless people.
Limited electricity and running water.
Prisoners turned into slaves while they do their time, with the worst offenders who are proven guilty with overwhelming evidence executed within days of thier sentence.
Government runned food shelters. Government runned farms will pop up every where.
Something far worst than the great depression.
Crime will sky rocket.
Suicides will sky rocket.
Most physical sports will either be banned, or people will simply not play them for fear of getting hurt.
Massive amounts of people fleaing the US to find work in other countrys.
Communitys will form where the way of life will be something like the Amish.

The bailout will delay this, but for how long?
The bailout will make the dollar weaker and weaker.

I don't think it will be that bad, but it's looking that way.
The economy is in such a domino effect. Consumer spending is drying up, buisness are closing left and right.
Obama just said that if nothing is done millions of jobs will be lost next year, and that will result in millions more lost.

The only thing we can do is make some sort of balloon payment system for everyone.
Cut government spending for things like war, and helping other countrys, and other spending that sends the money outside of the US.
Get caught up on the debt for both the national debt and the consumer debt.
Then rebuild, and at the same time make laws on credit that keep it in check.
Create jobs that produce products to export to other countrys.

Naturally it is a Russian who "predicts" this. It just so happens the Russians have been "predicting" and expecting a "crisis in capitalism" for many many years. This man is no financial genius, just an agent of Moscow repeating the party line since the days of Marx. The division of America is wishful thinking, however, the other things he says is unfortunately true. These constant bailouts are only going to stack the debt higher and higher until that "pyramid" falls. It isn't capitalism that is at fault, but the belief that the government can solve every problem. It was government that mandated to banks that they had to give loans to high risk customers. It was government who put in place many of the laws and regulations that led to our current situation. And now after causing the problem, government hopes to solve it by throwing more money at it. We will spend our selves to collapse. The only solution is to drop taxes and allow the economy to deal with itself. If a recession or even a depression is inevitable, such is the natural cycle of any economic system. To throw money at it as we are is only going to increase the problem. It's like making the falling giant fatter and fatter. If the market survives this and rebounds, it will not be because of government, but in spite of government.

This is an age of our civilization where men who are morally inferior are placed in positions of authority. Once upon a time, Western Civilization had great men like Aristotle in positions of honor. Their actors or directors were also great men like Sophocles, etc. Nowadays we have Madonna with millions of dollars singing corruption to the masses, or politicians without any brains pretending to be leaders of education. There are no Aristotles, there are no Platos anymore. Just inferior men with ego-manias just corrupting everything they touch! We are the blind, our leaders are blind, and together we will fall into the ditch while evil powers in Russia and China seek to crush and conquer the entire world. The truth is, the Russians and Chinese would like to divide us up between themselves. That's the source of that "wishful thinking".

However, it is true that the US will experience decline. We have to because its Europe's time to rise in many ways.

Keep looking up.
Europe's time to rise? They suffer the same disease as us, only it is more advanced and their stupidity is far greater. Their destiny is to be a slave to barbarians and dictators. Keep looking up, their destruction is hanging over head same as ours if the Devil has his way. No intellectual from Europe will ever be more than slightly relevant in the years ahead. Shame on you for not seeing the obvious.

The whole "New World Order" theologies that have Europe as the power or believes in the Illuminati and other such stupidities will be shown to be bankrupt fictions. As bankrupt as the spirituality of Western Civilization.

I find it funny how this Russian is predicting America's economic collapse, when Russia will also experience dire economic times. Although Russia has paid off much of its debt, the country lacks internal infrastructure and is reliant on oil profits. Now with the decline in gas prices, Russia's economic troubles will once again rise to the surface, just as they did in the 1990's.

I really wouldn't take what this guy says seriously. His remarks are just another anti-American rant similar to those that Russia's leaders (basically Putin) have been throwing around lately. The bottom line is, Russia is attempting to once again establish itself as a world leader, too quickly.

Wise post, and unfortunately I have no reason to believe the people in this country will wake up. All anybody is concerned about is what will the country do for them and screw having to do anything for the country.

As for the author of this article, I think he's close to being right. My opinion, this country will, and has already started to break apart, but it will be a breaking from within and without boundries. The divisions can be seen all around us.

The whole world should be very concerned.

For us christians, it should be nothing but a strole in the park!

For us Christians? Most of us will collapse right along with the rest of the society we abandoned into the hands of morally bankrupt people. Keep dreaming, will God allow spiritually bankrupt Christians escape the blood that is just as much on them as it is on everyone else?

God loves the unbeliever just as much as He does the believer.

And you leave it up to God, but God leaves it up to us to carry out His plan.
The world is in such bad shape because we mostly fail to do that.
For the most part, you are right

According to the prophecy of Ezekiel Russia will soon lead an attack on Israel, that will lead to Russia's sudden decline.

I also remember the USA pouring relief money into Russia when Communisn collapsed in 1990? Commie weasels like Putin are back again. No gratitude to the USA?

The Ezekiel prophecy would be nice, but we'll see when or if it happens. As for Commie Weasels "back again", they never really went away. Most of their leaders just got reshuffled or people came out from the background pretending to be "reformed socialists/capitalists".

Here is a nice video preview of a new documentary coming out: The Collapse of Communism: The Untold Story

Really? care to share names and reports?

Anatoliy Golitsyn being one of my favorite. He wasn't mentioned in that video there, though there are a few more names to look at. His books "New Lies for Old" and 'Perestroika Deception" are both amongst my library, though you can find them free on the web if you know where to look. Yuri Bezmenov would be another defector. Alexander Litinvinko, however you spell his last name, was also another one. He wasn't as credible as Golitsyn etc, but he still managed to get poisioned by Polonium 210 last year. He's dead now, twas on the news. Let me think, there was James Jesus Angelton, may have spelled his name wrong, our head CIA guy once upon a time. I could go on, and there were a few goodies there in that video too.

I recommend starting with Golitsyn's books to begin your education. It's better than listening to coasttocoastam and believing in the Illuminati, as some of you here do. Not that I seriously think you're going to look into it of course, you said "One man's opinion" when there were obviously several people speaking in that video lol.

If necessary, I have both books as PDFs on my computer. All I need is an email and I can send anyone who wants one copies. They're out of print, of course, so nothing to worry about regarding copy rights. You can buy them on Amazon for an arm and a leg. 70 dollars last I checked. You can do that too if it bothers you, though I doubt Anatoliy would care at this point.
