I just want to get some thoughts on going back to school after 20 years to try and start a doctoral program. I have looked at Grand Canyon State University, Liberty University, and Regents University, and would really like to take the plunge. My return on investment regarding money will probably be zero or less and I am married with a toddler. They are faith based and I really like many of the programs.

My biggest question is has anyone over 40 started a doctoral program and found it worth it?

Not a doctoral program but have started back to school in my 50s. I say go for it. You are NEVER too old. I plan to go into the education field after I am done. Enjoy and good luck.

Thank you! I appreciate the reply. I am leaning towards going back and I wish you success!
