    As I understand it. Eminem got his worldly posessions from a pact with a demon. And with all his things, he is still suffering. He had to pay with the blood of his friend/wife. The demon let him see his daughters grow up but they don't love him?

    No. Nobody in this world has made a pact with the devil. In this song Eminem is expressing and emphasizing his hellish life, meaning his life was terrible. Majority of his songs are like this, nothing new. That's all there is to it.

    I see it more as him saying that wanting so much fame and fortune is kind of like selling your soul to the devil. Now he's got it and he sees it as meaningless. He's lost his family (in a sense) to it and his friend & wife due to his fame. His kids don't know him because of it. It could be about his drug addiction too. Like it's always there but he's got to fight against it.

    Even though he's harsh and can be suuuuuuuuuuuper raunchy I still like him, I always have.

    No, that's stupid.

    His songs are reflections of things that have happened in his life and how he feels about him. No different from many other artists, except that his life was particularily terrible.

    I don't even understand how you came to the conlusions.

    religious&reasonable: Why do you feel it's okay to invalidate someone so? I mean there are ways to disagree with someone other than calling their views stupid.

    He is the slayer of the stupid threads after all and OP proposed a silly statement, hate to say I told you so but OP was asking for it. Nuff' said here. Long live HOVA the Brooklyn king btw.

    perhaps I was a bit blunt, but it is my opinion of the OP's hypothesis no less.

    Unless you are a fan of Norwegian black metal from the early nineties, you really don't have to worry about your favorite musicians being satanists.

    Early Norwegian black metal?
    ::raises hand::

    Anyway, this OP is a fairly classic example of why it is a fallacy to draw conclusions about an artist (musical, literary, or otherwise) based on their output. Reminds me of when I wrote a short story and people started concluding that I was depressed based on that. I was like, no... it's just a story.

    Where do you even come up with this? I can't directly think of him mentioning God but I know he has in his music,to be that dark he'd not even be as public or paternal as he is.

    I wouldn't wish to know if Eminem has associations with such. Maybe it was his agent who got him to talk about his terrible past just to drum up extra sales. Eminem's voice sounds grating, threatening and any time he comes on my radio I switch him off. Rap is fine if you like it. Just not for me.

    I am a fan of all styles of black metal. Norwegian and Swedish is always the best. Not all of them are satanists. In fact most of them are just very misanthropic agnostics. In my opinion both as pretty bad states to be in, but satanism is the all-time low.
