I'm actually surprised this thread hasn't been created. But yeah, he's passed away and his wife is in critical condition. Very sad story

He was a very great man of God. The world is at a loss for his passing. He will be missed.

I loved his approach to preaching the truth and safeguarding believers against some of the craziness that goes on in many churches today. Hopefully his wife will recover and be okay.

Thanks for posting that Allen. Yeah he authored The Cross and The Switchblade, among others but that was his most famous book. and started the Times Square church in New York City. He also had quite a prolific prophetic ministry.

They will be broadcasting the memorial service online on the TSC website sometime in the next two weeks. They're apparently expecting a rather large turnout. They're already telling people to email the church if they're thinking of attending.

On the TSC website they're also saying that his wife is now expected to recover.

I received one of his books when I went to his church in New York last year. It was an amazing experience. I pray that the ministeries he founded will continue to do the work of the Lord and spread the love and word of God. May the Lord comfort his family in this time of sadness.

I was stunned when I heard the news through the grapevine of our times (Facebook). Wayyy back when I was a college freshman and a new believer, I attended Times Square Church when I was home on winter break, and heard him preach quite a few Sundays.
A very sad day, indeed.

yeah I logged onto facebook last night and saw the news article in my newsfeed and thought, "did I really just read what I thought I read???"

Its still heartbreaking for me to think about. I really respected him and his ministry

Wow, that was surprisingly good (and I never realized Erik Estrada could be a great actor).
