When I read the try again I immediately thought of die trying then with a little consideration I thought no, die to self and rely on, depend on, believe on.

    HAPPY EASTER

Yeah, I know. Some times these saying can be tricky. I never intend the things I say to be platitudes. Not my style. Cliches never solve problems they only irritate the people that aren't listened to. I think you know what I mean. I'm pretty tired and having trouble staying on track. Any way, take care.

Oh no, you misunderstand. your post shows me that I am such a pessimist and that "I" need to change my focus. Your post merely stimulated careful consideration of how I see the world and it is I that needs the attitude adjustment. Your post could be seen as "pressing on to the high calling". Our part is to trust and step out in faith in Him and what He will do.

We post and God uses...its all good.

I should go to services buy after today I may not be able to move tomorrow...always the way...saturday chores interfere with sunday worship but thank God for the internet. I can catch Greg Laurie on Harvest Ministries with Greg Laurie for live services at 11:30 pst. My wife insist on going off the mtn for Church and it's an hour door to door...she doesn't care for small town fellowship, too close comfort for her, can't say as I blame her.

Boy do I hear you on all accounts. It's never just a simple day of chores or a day out. The end of the day or the next day or the next 2 or 3 days we're feeling it. Yeah, I get it. It's nice to talk to someone who just gets it; we don't even have to explain. I also get the small town stuff as well. Small towns can be a rather interesting mix at times. This is me being diplomatic. I figured you'd catch that. That's why I'm enjoying my access to the internet as well. It's not just the access to good edifying resources it's the fellowship with ......others who get it.

yea, the getting it part or lack there of, is hard to take at times. I went of the mtn today to get stuff to do some work on the house...the trip took it all out of me. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel which is 13 yrs over due but I am still going to have to do some painting and flooring which I know how to due and I do good work but the work itself works me over.

Anyway, hope you are having a good weekend.

I build and remodel homes. I do almost every phase. It is causing all my joints to suffer in addition to multiple surgeries. I'd done other things from time to time but my income is higher when I'm building. Catch-22 It feels like a slow a death. I'm not sure I'll be able to move in 20 years. Oh well.
I've got every hair and look much younger than I am though. Thanks Lord.

Despite all the difficulty and pain, it is helpful to see the positives in things even though at times that's rather difficult. I get you when you say it's a catch 22. I feel better when being productive in certain areas and it's helpful to my life but difficult on my physical health. I find the hardest ongoing issue I have and will always have is finding the right balance. Always struggling. Just too much on my plate to get done. Hate to be a downer but this is discouraging.

Balance, Danielsan, balance...Mr Miagi spoke words of universal wisdom. God is all about balance. For those of us with physical issues we walk a tight rope of personal responsibility and trust in the Lord to come through for us...we have to stand on what Paul says, to be content with what we have or where we are...we do not have the options that others have but we can, if we choose, to be closer to the Lord, much closer than most ppl because we have to depend on what we can do and in a way , if we surrender, will experience a closeness with Him that most will never know, not to say they can't but it's human nature to be self sufficient.

The profits experience discouragement so why should we be surprised...but the sooner we recognize it for what it is the sooner He can pull us out of our nose dive...I personally am becoming fatigued with my own aerobatics...I like thrill rides but staying on one for more than a short trip will make me sick;)

Finding contentment & peace when dealing with death & dying in our families

Finding peace and contentment can be a learning process..... During the last days, when someone is dying, it can stir up a lot of emotion. Speaking for myself, there were things I wanted my mom and myself to work through and on my part this required honest sharing about things a couple of times. Not easy to figure out how to do this but worth while considering life is eternal. Then the two of us being able to be together truly authentically with nothing left unsaid or any wedges was worth the risk. Not easy for either one of us but essential. Dealing with life authentically and living real is what brings peace and contentment. I believe it's all the untruths and pretense and those little nagging guilts that hinder peace and contentment. How much more sense is it to just say, "I feel sad; I feel hurt; I feel angry; I feel despair; I feel...." Than to waste years not saying the things that we should and have it eating away at us and have the devil using these unresolved things in the dark of the night when we are alone or vulnerable. By authentic, I don't mean rude; I mean the expression of the unsaid things that need to be said but we're too afraid to say them because it makes us feel vulnerable. I think the most important thing to remember, regardless of the outcome of our experiences, is to remember we are truly & deeply loved by our Father God who is with us.

I'll be praying and again, thank you all for listening and the prayers.

I've been sleeping well and managing and last night I felt the presence of God and his marvelous grace deeply. However, this morning, like the day my mother died, I felt the pains of grief. The reminder that a lack of honesty and authenticity can waste much of one's life and time together. At these times, I thank God for the 'little' big things like simple authentic words or a good song. Many times God is in the little things.

    I Kings 19:11-12

11 “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.

Well, I've been battling an infection and it's creating more physical pain and fatigue. I'm taking medicine but it's slow going. I hope I can get some more help with this it's dragging me down. It seems like life is at a stand still because I'm so tired and sore not getting anythings done. Sleeping a lot. At least now I have an answer as to why things have been worse. A bit frustrating with this endless cycle of pain and illness.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know what you are going through. Hope you feel better. You don't have to work with all these issues do you?

keep posting...I hope it helps to hammer it out. Coming up on the one year of my mom's passing and feeling conflicted...blown away by how fast our lives pass before us. I am convicted about what I haven't done for the Lord.

No and I'm thankful for that. The pain clinic I'm going too has been helpful with letters and support so far so that's been a real blessing. Been on leave for a number of years. How have you been doing? Hope you're managing.:)

Thanks for sharing. It's a relief to speak to people who aren't bother about talking about difficult things like grief and illness. Some times is easy not to talk about things these days because unless the other person is chronically ill it's just not understood and some times the response seems to be, 'why don't you just get over it aready'. I should tell them that's the point.... it's chronic illness and it just doesn't go away. Oh well. Yeah, it does feel good to vent. Not everyone gets that either. I'm glad God is God and not people. His motive are pure. I think you guys get what I mean.

We are looking at starting a Bible study for ppl who stuggle with these issues as well as the caretakers of those that suffer. There are ppl out there that get it but they are shut in and/or isolated. Joni Erickson has kits for ppl to start home fellowships of these type. If there is nothing of this type where you live consider starting one yourself...think of what a blessing you could be to others through this sort of work.
