You to before me need to grow up. My faith isn't in a man, but in the Word of God. Who cares if a man of God falls; you should be praying for his restoration instead of judging him. I'm shocked to hear Christians talk like you.
Grow up? How about holding people accountable for their own actions, is that grown up enough for you? In case you missed my blatantly obvious point, i'll spell it out for you: I don't call most of these "leaders" b-r-o-t-h-e-r-s at all. Is that plain enough? so why would i pray for their restoration?
Jesus had a few choices words for the 'leaders" in his day too. he called them "white-washed tombs". Is that plain enough for you as well? Will you disagree with the author and finisher of our faith?
And what does the bible say about THIS time? 2 Tim 4 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Is there any doubt that now more than ever this is that time? or will we resort to ancient retorts led by atheists since time began that "It has always been this way, nothing has changed."
Would YOU be so inclined to agree with them? Or can you not see the season?
amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.
you would make it seem that the word of god is being preached around the clock, without error, and with integrity, wisdom, and by the leading of the spirit. if that is the case WHY do most pastors worth their weight in salt say that the church is asleep? huh? why were so many deceived in florida? why are so many deceived HERE, on this very board? why do only 2% of christians witness? why am i looking at a current president that is trying to divide israel for the palestinians? why am i looking at gay marriage being an almost certainty, and partial birth abortion being the defacto standard in the land yet again? olmert, the pm of israel, is on his way out, and he is hurrying to try and make a deal before he is kicked out! bush was no friend to israel, so what do you think obama will be? can you not see the writing on the wall?
the usa MUST be pushed back as a superpower so that israel will have no choice BUT to seek a covenant with the anti-christ! why else would they sign if big brother were still in the picture? do you honestly think when ezek 38-39 rolled around we would just sit on our hands?! no, its because we have no choice! israel must rely on their messiah completely, totally, and without any doubt, and to do that we must dissapear.
you think i have derailed the topic? i have not, i wanted to merely paint a more clearer picture for you MD. you see, we may very well have the nature of god, as the bible says, however, (and here is where the leaders fall far short) we substitute holiness for "things". when looking at the bible, you must look at all of it, not just pick and choose what suits you, there is no "spitting out the bones" when it comes to the word of god! the bible says store up your treasures in heaven. the bible says where a man's eyes are, so is his heart. the bible says you can not serve two masters...
i would think far less of these so-called "men of god" if i heard more about holiness and less about "health, wealth, and prosperity." how about a little more godly sorrow? how about the least you do for these, you do unto me?
and barring all that godly instruction, how about using god-given common sense? the ides of march are here, now is not the time to be saying "eat, drink, and be merry."
Thou fool, tonight thy soul is required of thee.
will the one with entitlement in his heart see the face of god? or the one that says have mercy on me o lord?
it is time the elect woke up.
good day.
