It is coming up...

Sing along:

Allons enfants de la patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie
L'etendard sanglant est levé! (bis)
Entendez-vous dans les campagnes,
Mugir ces féroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans nos bras
Égorger nos fils, nos compagnes!

Me too! I know more about old movies and the stars of yesteryear than the current ones of today. The coolness factor is unmatched.

Turning on my television at any given moment will almost always result in it being tuned to TCM. I love old movies

One of my favorite scenes is when the young wife approached Rick about sleeping with Capt Reno(sp) .
So well done by Bogie. After the hundreds of times I've watched Casablanca I've yet to find a single frame where Bogart showed any awareness of the camera. This movie is his very finest work, in my opinion. Not a big fan of Bergman'S acting but her she makes magic. Every character is superbly cast.
The scenes in his office both with Louis and Lazlo are masterpieces all by themselves. And the eye contact when he comes across her and Lazlo and they sit at the table.....it'll never get any better than Casablanca.

"Casablanca ? we're in the desert"

"I was misinformed"

and everyone's favorite, "you've actually go to speak German to get it" hidden joke:

Wife (to waiter]: "We're speaking only English now so that we will fell at home in America"
Husband: "Liebshen, um, sweetness heart, what watch is it?"
Wife: "10 watch"
Husband" "Such watch"

Waiter: "You'll get along well in America"

Very subtle, and you have to watch for it: Early on, Rick is presented with a check. He scrawls OK, Rick on it. For the rest of the movie when he is presented with a check from a German, he tears it in half......
