General Manager Kurt Landes said he heard from several Hispanics who said PorkChop was derogatory.
They claim this is derogitory to hispanics.
I grew up in Tucson(AZ), Never heard of Pork chop being a bad name for hispanics.
I have heard of overweight people being called this,
but this is a pig mascot.
PC goes overboard again.

They named it Ferrous, the pig.
Now, they will offend the people that love Ferous Beulers's day off.

I've never heard of "pork chop" being offensive to anyone before. I guess I learned something new, lol.
Actually, my wife doesn't like it when I call her porkchop for some reason. :)

I can't believe the team actually changed the name...

I am going to raise hell until the Patriots change their name and the Fighting Irish change their name since I don't appreciate things I might associate myself with being used as mascots (though I think my complaints may fall on deaf ears...)

More than half my friends are Latinos, and three quarters are Puerto Rican.

I had never heard "pork chop" was an offensive remark.
One of my coworkers who is Puerto Rican orders pork chops for lunch every other day.

I guess I"ll be asking him about it, but I think if I mention "pork chop", he'll think it is lunch time.:D

Okay, I just called him, and he said he never heard of it.
Or maybe, he is afraid he won't be able to order his pork chop for lunch anymore.
:D
