Kylissa, it is a traditional response. We trust our Bishops in Synod to select a new Bishop amongst themselves, and our outcry of "He is worthy" is merely a traditional way of saying congratulations.

I had heard it referenced, but only in a local group ... wasn't sure if you had to know the person? It sounded like a way of approving the person, kind of a vote, the way I heard of it. Online, without knowing the person, I had no idea.

It's about time! Canada needs a good bishop. I remember meeting Bishop Irenee during the All-American Council in Seattle a few years back. Had a good vibe and the few Canadians I met there had nothing but good things to say about him.

He's good people. Canada is in good hands.
