Just as i write this here syrian troops have regained control over vast parts of Palmyra. The Citadel is already rescued and ISIS is on the run. Palmyra is such an important city. ISIS used it for its perverse circus. The city is worldfamous and was a hotspot for tourism.
ISIS destroyed temples:
and used the theatres as background for mass executions and propaganda.
Palmyra stands for evrything that opposses the islamist primitivism and barbarism. Culture, art, philosophy...ad a powerful Queen Zenobia.
Assads troops make rapid progress towards the city center. Russian helicopters already secure the inner complex.
When Palmyra is rescued...that would be the hardest hit for ISIS. Its their main propaganda spot. They used the temple destructions to scare the world.
