Take full advantage of this "misfortune". Take a good long break from housework for a while. Just be honest and tell people your place looks so bad because your vaccuum cleaner broke. They can't judge you for having a messy house if your vaccuum doesn't work. Milk it out as long as you can stand the dust buildup.
