    Hey guys again.

Remember my discussion about wiccan and tarrot things? Well I have done away completely with them.

    Anywho.

Erin and I (my girl friend) were sitting in my car tonight chatting. We were at Bixler lake park torwards the back, don't get any ideas, this place is a special spot for us that we always sat and chatted ever since we first started dating.

Well we were just cuddling and talking and out of the blue we hear a scream. The scream was aproximately 3 seconds long and it sounded of a female in COMPLETE TERROR. the best way and the first thought taht came to my mind: a scream of a banshee.

We BOTH heard it and were immediately spooked, I turned my car on and the only thing we both wanted to do was run. RUN IN FEAR. We calmed a bit after not driving too far away and I ended up calling 911 emergency to alert the cops that we heard a "omninous scream" coming from out of the woods.

After the cops came and we left, we both talked about it and brought up the possiblity of it really being a banshee or ghost. We have one instance where Erin, about over a half a year ago was pocessed, but we were looking for ghosts, this time we were just enjoying one another's company and innocently talking.

If it was some sort of ghost... why?

The senses went crazy and I'm home now and STILL feeling weird and shakey. Erin is fine. After we heard it, tears came out of her eyes... the same thing happened right before she got pocessed the last time.

    Thoughts?

This all could just be someone in trouble I do not know... but I'm still scared.

Maybe a warning to you from our Lord Jesus Christ to keep away from that place.

I spent a long time in the bush and heard a strange screams in the night of many unknown animals and birds.

This sound always sounded like a "woman screaming for help". It was strange that I always heard it in the early hours of the morning, but had never been able to sight the animal or bird that was omitting the nocturnal screams.

The scream was blood curdling, and the goose bumps on my arms were as large as mole-hills.

Anyway, I am very conversant of our native birds in Australia, but wasn't conversant with the scream of the "Barking Owl", which is commonly named "Screaming-woman Bird" and the "Murderbird".

So maybe you have a similar bird in your bush.

Now after identifying the bird, I then began to notice the differnces of the screams, so the other screams where never identified.

We had many aborigine stories of dreamtime, and have seen some of those animals that are supposed to be extinct at night. (Lips sealed wont tell you where they are!)

Now ghost are ghosts. Had a number of experience there as well, Demons are demons same there to.

Don't get fearful, you are a Child of our Almighty God, and fear doesn't come into the picture, but boy those goose bumps take awhile to go away.

    A warning?

We have always come there night or day to hang out. I'm not quite sure why we shouldn't. In the summer mornings will go into the woods and go to a special tower and enjoy the magnificent view! Though... we tried going back there once at night and BOTH of us sensed something wrong. There have been other times, and we both confirmed this, that it felt like we were being watched. So I don't know, but that scream was so strange.

I'm not sure if we have any birds that do that, its just before spring to start so I do not think the birds have migrated back yet. The cops spoke nothing of any birds...

Cats in heat make loud screams as well.

I've been awakened in the middle of a summer night thinking I've heard a woman screaming out...but it has been the neighbor's cats in heat. That's why I mentioned it. It's possible that you could have heard an animal of some sort given the location you were at.

This is very strange but the Holy Spirit informed me that what you heard was the sound of a demon.I'll see if I can get any more information about it from Him.

Beware of what will happen without God in your life.Seek Jesus.Ask for forgiveness.Do not venture on your own.Stay CLOSE to the cross.Follow Jesus.

Ok what the Holy Spirit explained to me is that because you have been slipping away from your Christian beliefs,God allowed a demon to scare you as a warning.CLOSE is the word the Holy Spirit keeps repeating to me.God wants you in a close relationship with Jesus. He is not to be looked upon from afar.Attach yourself to Him by establishing a personal relationship with Him through prayer,Bible reading and then following close in His commands.

Mountain lions on the prowl once again
    By Dennis Cauchon, USA TODAY
SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE, Mich. — Chief ranger Larry Johnson was driving to a movie with his wife in June when he saw something he never expected to see here near the shores of Lake Michigan — a mountain lion. [ Also known as cougars. ]

    ---------------------------------------------------------

The cry of a mountain lion is wild and terrifying. It sounds like a woman screaming in pain.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Rarely , during mating season the female cougar may emit a " blood-curdling scream ".

    ------------------------------------------------------

    Cougar Status in Illinois

Cougars are currently listed as extinct in Illinois. The last undeniably wild cougar in Illinois was shot somewhere in Cook County in the late 1850's. The official position of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) concerning any cougar shot or sighted since that time has been that the animal was an escaped pet, a circus refugee, or a misidentification of some other animal. But an event that occurred in July of 2000 may change all that.

On July 17, a bright moonlit night, a speeding freight train killed a cougar near Menard State Prison in Randolph County. An autopsy revealed that this cat was a healthy, mature, 110 pound male between four and six years of age. It showed no signs of wear on its paws to indicate recent travel, no evidence of confinement or human contact of any sort, all of its parasites were those commonly found in the midwest, and its last meal had been a fawn. Analysis of the cat's DNA revealed that it came from the southern race of mountain lions - those living from Mexico and Texas to central Arkansas. When all the evidence was in the conclusion was both surprising and inescapable - this was no escaped pet but a truly wild animal.

    ------------------------------------------------------

I've heard their " scream " , camping in Northern California a few years back .

It was a little scary .. but I choose to be still inside my sleeping bag and pray - and no harm came to me , even though I heard footsteps in the river gravel come right up to where I lay covered by only the bag pulled over my head .

Peace and Joy In Christ , and His Righteousness !

Well, in that case you may be walking on cursed land.

Have experienced that many times, and I just pray the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ over the area. It could have been an area of the local Indians.

I've experience similar frightening experiences when I've walked on aborigne areas of the past.

We have an area near where I live on those occasions when I've been in that area, I could feel these eyes in my back, and smell an overbearing odour. Demon!

Don't go back, and keep away from that area.

If I was a bratty teenage girl, I'd definately hide in the bushes while a couple cuddled together underneath the stars, then scare the daylights out of them by screaming.

ok, I personally wouldn't be worried about your GF getting possesed.

Scripture clearly explains that those who are Christians have Christ in their hearts. And there can't be a demon inside and Christ at the same time, and Christ can never leave. A house divided against itself will fall.

I only want to add here that there are no ghosts. After death comes judgment. Demons can take on the guise of a 'ghost' but it's no 'wandering lost soul' you'd be dealing with. It'd be a demon. People have been deluded time after time by trying to seek some kind of gnostic knowledge from demons playing as ghosts of relatives and things of that nature.

Immediately after death we're taken to a waiting place, for some it's paradise and for others it's a foretaste of hell. There's no escaping that.

It could've been a demon. Could've been an animal. In my experience, it's best lean towards what's natural and not let ourselves become obsessed with the idea that we've been visited by demons, otherwise we give them too much focus and not enough to God.

Oh, and glory to God for leaving sorceries behind. I'm glad. :)

The woods is a big place and there are a lot of animals in it. Not to interject any irrationality into this thread or anything. I mean I know its pretty likely that it was ,indeed, a big green slimy demon out for an evening stroll that let out a scream just for kicks and giggles. Funny that it would only do such a thing IN THE WOODS!!! Whens the last time you heard a demon scream in your living room or perhaps while you were on the toilet? If demons have the power to just pop up and scream at people any time they wish than why not do it there where it would really freak somebody out?

I'm banking on a bird or a cat of some sort.

    Call me crazy! :tutu:

What did the cops say it was? Have there been any recent reports of disappearances?

I live by a very old wood, at night you can hear all sorts of strange noises.

In the UK vixens (foxes) scream like they are being murdered at this time of year. They sound just like woman too.
Owls do not alway use a nice 'twit.....' 'twoo' they can also screech.
Got to admit the most haunting and disturbing noise I have ever heard was a rabbit screaming just before it died.

You have to be a darn good tracker and able to fully blend into the habitat with good night vision to see nocturnal animals and locate the source of the sounds.

That is before you consider the small squeaky creatures that scream and squeal when they end up being caught and eaten by others.

Calling the police because you heard a sound that sounded like a person in trouble was wise. In the UK police will still turn out for the 'grokkles' who get spooked by country noises but I tell you this if I had not found that rabbit in its death throes I would have called for the police too....and I AM country born and bred and can walk the old paths across this land!

I havent had a follow up from the police, but they did not mention any known animals that scream like that in our area. They seemed really concerned.

Odd enough... We've both been back in those woods. At night, its not because of paranoia, but we both have sensed and erry feeling of being watched. ONe time we went to go into the woods in the dark but neither of us, even with a flash light, almost a forboding feeling NOT to go in filled us.

We go there typically in the mornings and we are not usually people to be afraid of the dark... just strange things is all back there.
