I know creationists are not the brightest stars in the firmament, but even they must be able to see a problem with that.

Creationists are stuck with the traditional interpretation and translation.

They had every reason to get it right. And what does "at the time" mean? The ESV in the twenty first century, or the Geneva Bible in the sixteenth?

There are several meanings for many Hebrew words found in the OT that would make meanings more clear. Unfortunately the writers of the various versions were all in the same 'echo chamber'.

Um, if the whole Earth was flooded, the seas were already at their nor mal level, plus the depth of flood water of top of that, so how did the flood water manage to return into the sea?

I say get a rowboat and place it in an Olympic size swimming pool.

Fill the rowboat about 3/4 of the way with sand.

Place those Monopoly™ houses and hotels around in the sand for visual effect.

When it comes time for the Flood, just punch a few holes in the rowboat (through the sand) and run water sprinklers overhead.

Bingo ... there you have it.

Raise the ocean floor just a little and the whole inhabited earth would flood. Lower it and the water returns.

There are plenty of ways God could have orchestrated the Flood.

One way I put forth years ago is that He could have gently squeezed the sides of the earth until the waters covered the land.

Like putting water into a rubber bowl and squeezing it.

So even conservatives are determined to stick with a mistranslation?

Married ones are. Consider that Eve 'put upon' (nagged) Adam to share in her sin, but the translators preferred the term 'gave'. Probably so they wouldn't have to sleep on the couch. ^_^

There are so many ways He could have done it, I'm sure unbelievers will like one of them!

You got. All that is needed to 'flood' a 12 inch diameter globe/earth is to misshapen it by the thickness of two or three sheets of paper.

So what would you leave under the raised ocean floor? A vacuum? If so, the pressure of the water would have returned it to its previous state.

So God has got a physical pair of hands now.

How do you think the Israelites crossed the Red Sea after God parted the waters?

They went straight across -- on dry ground.

Those of us who are not YECs will never be connoisseurs of arrant nonsense.
Ya ... it's much easier to scratch yourself nuts and talk like a scientist, isn't it?

Using that logic lava domes aren't possible, and the Yellowstone plateau isn't rising. A large temperature anomaly in the earth's mantle beneath the oceans might have caused them to rise and fall.

Meaningless blather.
That's what I said: talk like a scientist.

YECs don't join Christian websites to ask how the Flood was orchestrated; and I'm sure they sleep like a baby.

Scientists, on the other hand, can't even answer simple challenge questions; mostly because they can't understand them.

Mostly because they are nonsensical to start with. With regard to your latest offering, it is no fault of physicists that you can't comprehend the stochastic nature of radioactive decay.
