4 Kingdoms

Daniel
7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

7:4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

There are additional details contained in several other visions given to Daniel that pertain to the dominions [kingdoms] of the Gentiles and their relationship to Israel.

This vision of the four beasts parallels the image of the monolith and the seven dominions of the beast of the book of Revelation. [Daniel 7; Revelation 17]

This perspective is slightly different and gives some important details for understanding what will take place at the time of the end.

The fourth beast is presented as a combination of the fourth and fifth segments of the monolith given in Daniel's vision and represents the 6th and 7th heads [dominions, kingdoms] of the beast of Revelation 9, 11, 13 and 17.

Modification here implies that there will be two future dominions ruled by the same king of the north (little horn) who is represented by the iron in both. [Daniel 7, 8:9, 8:23, 11:36, 12:7]

The dominions are ruled by the same king yet will be different positions for him as one is expanded to form the next. He will rule the first and then will share power with 10 other kings in the second expanded dominion.

The term "beast" is applied to describe the succession of four separate consecutive Gentile dominions [kingdoms] and the related human king "position" of each in the 7th chapter of Daniel.

These are symbolic "animal" beasts that represent human kingdoms, and are not the same as two fallen angelics who are also described as "beasts" in the book of Revelation. These two angelic beasts are associated with human kingdoms, but they are not the kingdoms themselves. [Daniel 7:23; Revelation 13:1-2]

The lion [neo-Babylonian], bear[Persian], leopard [Grecian], and final nondescript beast are the same as the head of gold, arms and chest of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, and combination of the iron and the clay.

Daniel is told that the first three beasts would have their dominions taken away, but would continue to exist in part even until the time of the end.

Each would be absorbed by the next in succession, but all three would remain in the same geographical area and have a presence associated with the dominion of the fourth beast. [Daniel 7:12]

The book of Revelation describes the final head [dominion] of the beast possessing exactly the same make up of the mouth of a lion, the feet of a bear, and the body of a leopard. [Revelation 13 .... symbolizing three of his ancient Middle Eastern kingdoms]

Abaddon-Apollyon's [satan's beast from the abyss .... Revelation 9:11; 17:8] seventh and final dominion will include the combined geographical territories and the ancestry of the inhabitants of these three ancient Middle Eastern dominions of the past. [Revelation 17:8]

Abaddon-Apollyon ruled over these Gentile king positions of the ancient neo-Babylonian, Persian, and Grecian dominions located in the Middle East. He will rule over two future consecutive dominions through the human little horn at the time of the end.

Satan's design of Abaddon-Apollyon's incarnation in the little horn will be the final "antichrist" .... the son of perdition, the man of lawlessness. He will rule the Middle East and will cause great tribulation for Israel and most of the world.

Daniel views the little horn immediately after he is told that Alexander's empire would be divided. [Daniel 8:9]

The vision then moves directly to the end of this present age at the latter end of Gentile rule in the Middle East. [Daniel 8:8-12; 8:23-25; 11:36-45: 12:7]

The times of the kingdoms of the Gentiles will end when the transgressors have reached the limits of the Lord's patience. A king of fierce [bold] countenance will appear who will be stronger and dominant over the other ten kings who will rule with him.

The Apostle Paul said that the day of the Lord will not be come until the great apostasy of the transgressing Gentiles is in process and the lawless one is revealed whose coming is after the workings of satan. [2Thessalonians 2]

All of the Gentile kingdoms in view have transgressed against the Lord by separating from Him and by ignoring His providence and direction. This behavior will be specifically offensive and unacceptable to Him at the time of the end.

Daniel's fourth animal beast begins as an iron dominion and then changes into a dominion of iron and clay. He describes it as a "terrible" beast and views it in its final form of development.

The Lord will not tolerate this last stage of Gentile domination [latter end of their rule] in the Middle East and the related occupation of the land of Israel by these enemies of His nation of Israel.

This fourth animal beast has two distinct stages; one iron leg, and iron and clay feet and toes. The little horn will rule the first and then expand it by conquering the rest of the Middle East by alliance and by force.

The first will be a smaller nation or country......or even a clandestine tribal organization located somewhere in the area of the ancient land of Magog [northern Middle Iraq].

There will be another contemporary dominion represented by the other iron leg [Egyptian] located south of Israel.

Daniel is told that at the time of the end the king of this dominion will "push at" the king of the north. This rival king of the south will attempt to stop the little horn's expansion ambitions. [Daniel 11:40]

The king of the north's response will be to invade, conquer, and add the land of Egypt to his dominion. The same vision includes further conquests by the little horn and results in his dominance of most of the Middle East. [Daniel 11:36-44]

He will then rule most all of the land area that was incorporated in the ancient dominions of the lion, bear, and leopard. [Revelation 13]

This will be the divided dominion of iron and clay. The land of Israel, Jerusalem, and the temple mount will be included. [Revelation 11:2]

It is important to recognize that there is a breach in the scope of Bible prophecy which falls between Daniel's third and fourth "animal" beasts [kingdoms].

Understanding this truth will clarify much confusion that has been created by attempts to place Rome and/or subsequent rulers of the Middle East over the last 2,000+ years into the visions.

If the first and second beasts of Revelation 13 are angelics, then why does it say the number of the beast is the number of a man?

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Neither of the beasts are angelics.

Apollyon is the angel over the stinging locust coming out of the bottomless pit. Nothing more. He is not called a beast in Revelation. Nor is he pictured anywhere but in that one passage.

"If the first and second beasts of Revelation 13 are angelics, then why does it say the number of the beast is the number of a man?"

>Because it is .... the human little horn will bear the number of his incarnate beast who is Abaddon-Apollyon

>The name of the beast is given .... Abaddon-Apollyon .... the number of his name is the symbolic 6+6+6

>This number will also be the number of the human little horn which this beast will incarnate

>This number of imperfection represents the composite triad of satan, his beast, and the human little horn

>Notice the beast in the little horn in Daniel 8:10 .... a mere human cannot cast down and destroy angelic beings

>Also notice that Daniel's "little horn" is not listed with the other 10 horns [human kings] in Revelation .... this is because the beast has fully possessed him .... Revelation 13:1

>Notice that the little horn is far stronger the other 10 horns [Daniel 7:20] .... this is because he is the combination of a fallen angelic and a human

>And notice who gives Abaddon-Apollyon his power and authority on the earth [Revelation 13:2] .... and who receives ultimate worship [Revelation 13:4] .... this is satan's way of presenting himself as "god" working through his angelic prince [the other prince of Daniel 9:26-27] .... Abaddon-Apollyon .... just as God works through His Prince Jesus Christ [2Thessalonians 2:2-12]

>And notice that the beast in the little horn honors his god who is satan [Daniel 11:38-39] .... the god of forces

>Satan is the "chief prince" [gog] of the fallen ones [Ezekiel 38:3] [Revelation 9:1; 12:3-4; 12:7-9; 12:12]

>Satan is the covering cherub who rebelled against the Lord long long ago [Genesis 3; Job 1:6; 38:7; Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28] .... he is called the "god" of this world and the one who stands behind human kings and their kingdoms

>It is essential for the student of Bible prophecy to understand this unseen drama of the war between the Lord and Satan which parallels and effects human existence on the earth

>And Abaddon-Apollyon is definitely called and is the beast from the abyss in Revelation [Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 17:8]
