He is? I think he's pretty mediocre, especially the way his characters continually deform throughout the strip (I mean, in that second last panel it looks like the girl's been worked over a few times).

And while he may be a raving lunatic, that shouldn't detract from his being a good artist.

Sigh, that mans view of Catholicism is so freaking warped.

Have you read his explanation for using comics? It kind of goes against his "that is bad because a bad person does that" sort of thing. |

Calm, rational with all the answers (Christians).
Calm, rational but still confused (Potential Christians).
Insane, hottempered megalomaniacs (Atheists, Catholics, Muslims and pretty much anyone else that Chick disagrees with).

Reps: 907 (power: 0) | | With a sinking feeling in my heart I started the latest Chick Tract. The last evolution one was painful enough, and I had little hope for this one. Chick Tracts are one of the few non-parody sites to be constantly mistaken for a parody, and the tracts themselves usually inspire physical pain.
The start was pretty usual, strict teacher, obviously wrong about something. Looks like it's evolution.
Then the first surprise: Chick got it right! The kid was right when he said humans didn't evolve from apes. Unfortunately Chick obviously thinks this strawman is evolution's position, but still, it's inspiring to see that he can hit the mark, if only by accident.
Then comes the Giant Evolutionary Conspiracy (TM). The nobel kid tells the others that the "truth" can be found in Kent Hovind's Creation Seminar. Kent Hovind holds the unique position of being perhaps the only creationist rebuked by AIG for "Bad Science." And Chick has a deal to help him distribute his garbage. Why am I not surprised?
Next up: God made man and dinos on the same day. I'm not sure even HOVIND endorses that one, the evidence against it is overwhelming (you'd think we'd find a fossilized dino with a partially digested human in it somewhere.
Then Chick just skips science, and babbles on about going to hell if you believe in evolution. It's no real surprise that he uses kids, since Hovind isn't convincing to anyone beyond the third grade. The usual from Chick. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
