why do the creationists never have anything to say about these things?
They really really don't like the very best proofs of evolution.
Endogenous retroviruses, and their insertion being in complete agreement with morphological family trees of species (thus providing a nice cross check with completely different lines of evidence), are usually the first hammer I like to hit Creationists with. I've never met one who could counter it.
They may be the single best "smoking-gun" proof of evolution there is.
I think this deserves a bump then. Isn't Bob Moore saying he's going to tackle this one?
