Although now a museum, and at one point converted to a mosque, Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom) in Constantinople was once considered the greatest church in Christendom. Amazingly, some of the mosaics inside survived.
The hosts of the websites I got these photos from digitally removed the minarets, and added a cross back on top the dome.
