The persecution of believers is the first event to look for at the
time of the beginning of sorrows.
Luke 12:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these
things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come
to pass? 8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many
shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth
near: go ye not therefore after them. 9 But when ye shall hear of
wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first
come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10 Then said he unto
them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and
pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from
heaven. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you,
and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into
prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore
in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For
I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall
not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16 And ye shall be betrayed both
by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of
you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of
all men for my name's sake. And they asked him, saying, Master, but
when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these
things shall come to pass? 8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not
deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and

Well if the time is not yet, then why are you posting this in News and Current Events? Wouldn't one of the apologetics forums be more appropriate?

Christian zealots have created this conspiracy that believers are being persecuted left and right by a "satanic (sometimes Atheistic)" government. And they point to small, isolated incedents to back up their claims, but ignore that larger, less isolated incedents where Christians have persecuted other religions.
The zealots are slowly loosing control over the government, and their sway over the ppl, and this scares them. And somehow, they think this is persecution.

The persecution of believers is one of many Biblical prophecies occuring presently on a large scale-In third world countries, muslim countries and in China.
This is not the case in the United States nor European countries for apostasy (falling away, false doctrine, false prophets and false teachers) Biblical prophecy is taking place at a grand scale especially in the United States.
When Israel became a State in the 1940's this ushered in the most significant fufilled biblical prophecy in this day and age. Since then the escalation of fufilled biblical prophecy is quite amazing.
Christians studying the full counsel of God's Word including but not limited to biblical prophecy understand the significance of what is taking place throughout the world today concerning biblical prophecy being fufilled.
CF is a Christian/Ministry that believes in the inerrant and authorative Word of God thus it is quite relavant to utilize God's Holy Word to desribe that which is occurring in the world and it's connection to Biblical prophecy.
The News Forum has been utilized for individual's public declarations that are allowed thus the nature of Biblical prophecy concerning actual News Events (rather than individual public declarations deemed as news) are quite relavant at a time such as this.

China. The Sudan. Just to name two places that persecute Christians. And not just persecute them, but kill them.
Haiti also comes to mind, after recently hearing about that devastated country.
Well, that's a start....
Christians and jews have been perscuted since the beginning of their religons.
Maybe some of these countrys are just trying to get the christians back for perscuting them....
