Reps: 14 (power: 0) | | | Segregation was different, black people could only marry black people and white people could only marry white people. Thus there were different rights for different people, not equal protection. |

They had every right to lie and pretend to be Christians but they chose to be honest and suffered the consequences. Thanks to segregation people of African decent were legally prevented form enjoying the same rights and benifits as those of European decent. They were denied equal protection under the law. |

Reps: 1,837 (power: 0) | | | The only way a homosexual could marry a person of the opposite sex is to lie. He/she would have to Lie and pretend to be a heterosexual. Lie and pretend they wanted to marry a person of the opposite sex. Lie to the prospective bride/groom Lie to their family Lie to their friends Lie to coworkers Lie to prospective bride’s/groom’s family Lie to whoever officiated the wedding Lie to any children that resulted from this dishonest union In fact they would have to spend their entire lives living a lie. datan, you have stated often that homosexuality is a sin. Tell me why homosexuality is wrong but lying is not or at least better than being a homosexual. |

Nothing is stopping a professed homosexual from marrying someone of the opposite gender.
That's segregation, which I mentioned was a case of not equal protection. Homosexuals aren't being denied rights and benefits. |

Reps: 14 (power: 0) | | | You don't have to lie to marry someone of the opposite sex, its just a government liscence. You don't need to be in love to get married. |

Reps: 14 (power: 0) | | | You do not need a gov liscence to marry either if you do so in Gods wittness & honor your vows God does recognize a marriage. I personally dont want goiv recognition of a Godly marriage to include sodomites. |

Alex and I are being denied the right to have our eight year marriage legally recognized. There are 1,400 civil rights and legal protections currently denied homosexuals in the United States. Pretending that this is not the case is just dishonest. |

Last time I looked traditional marriage vows included the promise to love honor and cherish. Saying “I do” is agreeing to this. To say this to someone you do not love is lying. |

There are polygamists in Utah who I'm sure are arguing the same thing. However the SAME rights are being applied to everyone in the case of marriage. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
