A Camping Story

one night at our camping site.. it started raining.. well the rain was getting harder.. and we thought we needed to put a tarp over our tent.. it was my mom and my 3 sisters and my sisters 3 kids.. and me and my 2 other brothers ... we had 3 tents set up... ok ... back to the story.. it started raining ..really hard.. we all got up to put tarps on the tops... well the rain was so hard.. that it was getting in the tents.. my mom uses a walking cane..because she cant get around good... so my sister was helping my brother.. get things set up.. and mom took her cane and hit the top of the tent..to release the water... all the water went on my sister.. and she stood there in shock.. then my nephew grabbed a lamp.. that was ..on ..in the rain.. and he pretended to be elcetucuted.. and my one other sister... which is his mom .. was scared to death... then... all the lights blew.. lol and we could not see nothing! ... so we were soaked and muddy .. with no lights... all we could do was go back into the tents... the rain stopped ..and the skunks came out... they were everywhere..with thier tails up.. we could not move.. then ... lizards got in the tents.. and one was on my sisters neck .. lol ... that next morning.. we had to throw all of our stuff away.. lol
it was so muddy and wet... the next night ..we went night fishing.. and my sister had brought alot of her lamps from home.. to use in the tents ..and outside.. well 2 lamps had already been ruined from the rain..so she had her last floresent light ..at night fishing with us... here comes the rain again! ... lol i was in the car..and i was watching them gather all thier stuff .. and my sisters light went out.. and i busted out laughing.. she was so mad.. lol we get back to the camp site its pitch dark... i was scared that i would step on a skunk and get sprayed...lol they only came out at night.. well the rain stopped.. and my borhter bult a big fire... so we could get warm.. and then the skunks came out.. it was the worst camoing trip and the last i ever went on... i loved camping..but after that .. i did not like it no more... now ..we stay in cabins... and thats a breeze to roughing it out .. i got smart and thought .. why did i ever rough a vacation out like that..lol

lol! Not fun!

i can laugh now... i was so scared .. i had to laugh at my sister.. because ..she was so frustrated .. with the trip ... and she lost a total of 4 lamps on that trip... she laughs about it now... cause is was funny .. about her lamps...but the rest was not funny

sounds funny and yet scary at the same time. whoa!!!!

Now that is a camping trip not to be envied. I hope you have many more camping trips that will make up for that one!

oh, come on...that's half the fun of camping! if it was all nice and neat and reasonable, it wouldn't be called "roughing it". also...next time anyone goes camping, check weather.com for the site you're going to to see if it's gonna rain and you can be better prepared. though, one thing i am picky about is keeping the inside of my new truck clean. muddy stuff would irritate me to no end if i had to put it in my Rodeo for the trip home.
