The person of faith, spends a great deal of time to study and read the Bible and by a scientific defininition is a expert. So, if we were talking about science, who would you believe, the expert, or the person who is a novice?
Don't forget that people with faith and belief can see different things, such as whether the earth is only 6,000 years old or far older and whether the flood of Noah was local or global.

Something you should look a little more closely at in the near future.

I have been thinking about it for nearly 50 years. Have you thought about it? Maybe you should take your own advice. Science unequivocally shows that the earth is old and that there has not been a global flood in the last few hundred million years at least.

If the Bible must be intrepreted as requiring a young earth and a global flood then the Bible has been falsified for over 100 years and falisifed by a huge and every increasing number of observations. However, it may be that it is only your interpretation of the Bible that has been falsified. If the Bible does not require a young earth and describes a large but local flood then the Bible has not been falsifed. Your attempts to refute the scientific falsifications of the flood enumerated on this thread have all fallen far far short of the mark as will all other attempts because the global flood has been falsified by geology, paleontology, paleoclimatology, biogeography, biodiversity and archeology at the very minimum and by other sciences as well. So which is false? The Bible or your interpretation of it?

You seem to forget that I believe in both the young earth and the old earth. The world we live in today is very different than the world was 12,000 years ago. I believe the Bible has a duel meaning and it can be applied to both a young and a old earth model.

I beleive in a literal reading of the Bible. I was told on this point today by my pastor though, that what I believe is not the traditional understanding.

Adam and Eve were the FIRST in a lot of ways, but I do believe that there were prehistorical people, before Adam and Eve. I believe Adam and Eve were the beginning of the Hebrew people and the Hebrew nation.

You have recorded history and you have pre recorded history that depends a lot on the natural record that we find in the world.
