The prevailing Idea right now is that the Mitochondrial eve lived about 150000 years ago. But that's substitutional mutations... I am not even going to get into that.
No, PLEASE get into that. My primary area of academic pursuit is evo/devo biology. I would LOVE for you to elaborate. And from where did you hear that Mitochondrial eve lived 150,000 years ago? I've heard 80,000 years ago(Mapping Human History) and 50,000 years ago (The Genesis Question). She may have, I'm just curious what you've been reading.
But what I was trying to support here was my point that all humans came from the same place, and migrated from there. Most commonly the accepted hypothesis is the "Out of Africa" theories, from what I have heard, the africa part is merely speculation. Tracing the Mt Dna has shown us this 'Mitochondrial Eve' but this could only happen if there was a (relatively) small population, at one point in time. I was planning on making the point that this small population (like that at the building of the tower of Babel or the few amount of people left after Noah's flood) would have been necessary. But I realized that would support another point better considering this could also be evidence for the Biblical Eve as well. I didn't think it was going to be very convincing, so I decided to abandon it as a point in this discussion.
Actually we have numerous fossils from Africa. We actually have an entire field of scientists- paleoanthropology- that unanimously agrees with the African exodus theory of human descent. TTYL Jesus loves you.
What on earth- the air pressure was less. Not more. It gets HARDER to breathe as you go up because there's less air because gravity is weaker there and air molecules are more sparse. That's why they take oxygen tanks when they ascend Mt. Everest. I'm not being intellectually honest? What?
if the world were covered in water, then the air pressure at the new sea level would be pretty high, since the air cannot go any lower. The reason that the air pressure is so low on everest is because something like half of the atmosphere is compressed into a space below 6000m above "sea level". Gravity is barely an issue, since gravitationally the difference between 6000km from the core and 6006 km is practically nothing.

Mitochondrial eve is ~143000 kya, and y chromosome adam is ~84kya

yeap, and going back to mitochondria, the evidence comes from there too, since that can also show the "eve" of the various different ethnic groups. the african eve is alot older than the caucasian eve, for example.

I had not thought of that. Good point. I was late to clock in and was just typing out any ideas that came up.

Sorry bout that.
no problem, now you know
on the other hand though, you are right in some ways. Since the atmosphere would previously have been loaded with vast quantities of water, the air pressure on the surface would have been several thousand atmospheres, so there would have been a bit of a drop. AllHail seems to think that God miracled all the water in, then miracled it all away, and then miracle grew the trees, and then no doubt miracle dispersed all the animals back to their original habitats, and miracle fed them while all the varieous life cycles gou underway again. and miracle vanished all the evidence for the flood. One wonders why he didn't just miracle all the bad people away, it would have been almost infinitely simpler and less stupid sounding.

If you do indeed hold to the sorting method proposed by creationist authors, then wouldn't we find primitive reptiles alongside modern ones? Wouldn't one expect to find dinosaurs buried in the same strata as modern komodo dragons and present-day alligators? Most importantly:
Why would bacteria and microorganisms be sorted underneath bottom-dwelling marine organisms under this hyrdaulic sorting method?

Wikipedia. But the date was not what I was getting at.

Maybe that's How he wanted to do it. I have read articles from good old AIG about what happened to the water and everything, but that seems like trying to explain where all the extra bread came from when Jesus fed the five thousand.

that seems weird from both perspectives because whether you hold to uniformitarianism or catostrophism, you would figure they would be mixed in as well. We know bacteria is everywhere, so I guess the only question would be why aren't bottom-dwelling marine organisms on the bottom? which really does not seem to be much of a problem.

Actually I don't. But I will attemp to answer these questions anyway, but first you will have to define 'primitive reptiles' dinosaurs, are heavier than alligators, and alligators can swim, but it would seem that this too would be better explained by ecological zoning rather than hydrological sorting.
