Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | 1 Cor. 15:20 & 23????? Sometimes as i do my devotions I get stumped on one thing
and me having to know what everything means, I go to whatever extents to find out.
this is just a little thing but I kinda want to know.
In 1Cor. 15:23 1Cr 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1Cr 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. what is firstfruits
I think they have something to do with Jewish tradition in sacrifice.
but how does this apply?
can anyone commetn
go for it.

worship God!!!!

Reps: 506 (power: 0) | | At a quick glance it seems to me, it means first fruits are those 'fruits' a newly saved person may produce.
Take in mind I'm probably wrong too! Just my own .02 cents. I have yet to read Cornithians yet. I'm studying revelations right now so...

Reps: 80 (power: 0) | | | firstfruits refers to the harvest festival when Jews brought the first of their crops to the temple. This verse says Christ is the first to have a ressurection body. Although other people were raised from the dead they all died again. Christ was the firsst to never die again. |

Revelations is awesome! I'm very interested in the end times and what Christ has instore for us. I baught a book recently, it's called Revelations Unveiled, by Tim Lahaye. It goes through Revelations verse by verse and chapter by chapter explaing the meanings and the symbolism and what it means for us today. Check it out here. Sometimes I get scared while readin revelations, because it's probably one of the scariest books in the bible, but it's also one of the most hopeful.

Reps: 293 (power: 0) | | | Jesus is the firstfruits in that He was the first to rise from the dead in a glorified body.
__________________ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2) Faith in Christ is not belief without proof, it is trust without reservation.
I have found no greater joy, than to live totally surrendered to Jesus Christ. |
