I wonder whether or not there's an evolutionary advantage to scientific illiteracy? Sure seems to be a lot of it about these days.
Are you referring to the scientifically illiterate assertion that since some obscure theologian supposedly believes in evolution, that it must be so?

I was very christian at one time, but when made to choose between the lies of creationism and the fact of evolution, then I chose the reality. Your reaction, opinion and interpretation do more to drive people away from God than towards it. The Evil athiest conspiracy thanks you.

If you literally interpret genesis, then you are denying the evidence that God has left behind in the world. That means you deny God and Accept only the bible.
