Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | Biggest misconception? What was your biggest misconception about Christians, or Christianity, before you got saved?
Mine was that it was boring. I just knew that in order to be a Christian, a person had to give up everything thing that was fun and become a very boring person! Boy was I every wrong! I've had more fun as a Christian than I ever had before! |

Reps: 16,995 (power: 44) | | | I thought Christians were all lower-class, poorly-educated, myth-believing weaklings who believed in Christ to cover for their laziness and stupidity.
Slogans like "abundant living" and "a new life" made me mad, since I thought they were made up to make people accept impoverishment and biogtry.
Pretty different from reality, huh?

Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | Quite different! It's amazing to me the lies that the world believes about Christians. Thinking back, I really had no basis for my belief that it was all boring and no fun, because I didn't even KNOW any Christians! |

Ignorant judgemental, and hateful christians have to be one of the most repulsive things to nonchristians.

Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | Actually, I have a few relatives like that. They are Christians, but very much look down their nose, and are extrelemly judgmental of everyone around them. However, I didn't experience any of it until I myself got saved. I had very little contact with these relatives while I was growing up. Now...I just find them very sad people, because I know they are missing out on so much "joy of their salvation". |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | my misconception was that Jesus was not real. That the Christian religion was scary for some reason, because I was mistaking power for fear. Now that I have seen the light, Jesus is my brother and God is my best friend and Father. It took me a long time to even begin to notice the great benefits of the healing love. |

Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | What an awesome thing it is that God desires to bring Truth into our lives to dispel the lies that we have believed about Him! Nothing but the light of Christ could overcome such darkness. I am so very grateful to be in the Truth! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
