85 toyota 4runner (before&after)

Here are pics when I first got it, then after I fixed it and added new parts and paint.

1985 Toyota 4Runner. 22RE 5speed.

It was a sad departure, but she had to go. I needed one final hug before it was gone.... forever

the ole yota finally split a timing chain after 200,000 miles.

Had the whole thing tore down and reassembled with upgraded chain parts. Has all new gaskets, and just turned over last night. She will drive again!

You sold your Jeep CJ?!!! Are you nuts?!! Oh man, that things looks nice, too - why did you sell it and why not to me??

That's okay, I've got a Jeep XJ and I wouldn't trade her for anything - even another Jeep (although I am considering buying a second one, hehe).

btw - that's a nice Toyota, I like the work you've done on it.

Only two indicators that its a YJ: Roll bar attaches to windshield, and it says wrangler on the rear quarter. Those are TJ fender flares

I sold it so I could afford an engagement ring, a much better trade off! It had problems with timing, and trans needed to be replaced. So I sold it to a jeep freak with all spare parts to fix it and upgrade it. It was a fun truck, I can tell you that! Thats why I was hugging it when he came to take it from me!

Well, the toyota died on the highway last month. Spun a rod bearing and it overheated big time. So need to rebuild or replace the low end, bummer!! But I want my trail rig back now that I drive a different car to work and stuff.
